Melany Ellegood Johnson

I’ve always worked, most of my jobs have been long term.
I worked in the restaurant business, banking business (12 years), I worked for the Susanville Indian Rancheria for 20 years. I would still be working there if it wasn’t for my Georgie’s passing and the Dixie Fire. I was forced to leave my home of 24 years. There were no homes or apartments available, thanks to the Dixie for. My daughters moved me down to Orland, I am now living in our family homestead south of Corning. I never thought I’d end up on the property ever again. So, here I am living on my own. I have 5 grands who are everything to me. Their ages range from 25-7 years old. I’m trying to live my best life.

My years at RBUH were hard and unfulfilling. I had a small circle of very good friends who helped me with my anxiety and depression. My parents were overprotective, I was never allowed to go to any school activities, like football games, proms, dances, etc.
