In July I had the honor of being invited to US Air Force Museum Dayton OH to attend the dedication of the of The US Air Force Aircraft Maintainers Memorial.

After the dedication I took time to walk around this huge Memorial Park outside the museum reading many of the different arrays of Memorials. One thing struck me as strange, there was no Memorial for US Air Force Air Transporters. I asked one of the caretakers who worked in the park where the Air Transporters Memorial is and he said, he has never see one.

Now I want to make one thing very clear, what I am about to suggest is not a "Port Dawg Memorial". Many 602, 605, and 2T2 never saw an Aerial Port Squadron during their careers in the US Air Force. This will be an "US Air Force Air Transporters Memorial".

Just to let everyone know, the Aircraft Maintainers Memorial cost $50,000.00 plus a renewable kitty to cover any maintenance costs.

Now with the lead up complete, it would be nice to know if there is any support for an Air Transporters Memorial. We have a large number of 602's, 605's, 2T2's around the world, if everyone donated $2.00 we would have one great memorial.

Let's hear what you think.
