Doug Maddock: Cause of Death -- Heart Failure
Doug managed the ice rink at Rhein Main. He was in the 60th Air Base Group.

 Doug arrived at R/M in 1950 and served there until Sept. 1954.  He was involved with the base sports programs.  He was very involved with the football team.....supervised the team workouts, etc.  He traveled to away games with the guys.  He was manager of the ice rink and did the shaving of the ice himself.  He was a native of Elyria, OH.  He was an airman first class, assigned to the 60th Air Base Group. We met in July 1954 when I arrived at R/M. (my dad was Lt. Col George Herndon, commander of the 11th Troop Carrier Sqdn.) We married in June 1954 at the Base Chapel. We loved being at Rhein-Main. I have recently moved, so I apologize for not having some pictures of Doug.  I have many, but not at my present location.
