Just wait until Anna is going to more than just HER homecoming! And heaven forbid they wear the same dress to each one! Ruth is going to 3 this year!

Yo Ben, It is what it is, this is our 3rd year for Homecoming and guess what, it's gonna be my 2nd after Homecoming Party Host...and thank goodness I don't have a hottub! $$$ and more $$$ we were at Parkway last nite when the Panthers got that td with zero on the clock and smoothed past us 19-18 at the JV game. guess it's rematch this Friday in Htown for the varsity game. C YA!!

Tiffany McGregor (Akin)

Hey, Guys! I am with you on the Homecoming thing! My daughter, Callie, is just 5 years old and is a cheerleader for the local rec club. The coach told us we are going to have a Homecoming, where the football players will walk the girls across the field and give them flowers and balloons. The girls will be wearing tiaras and sashes. Please give me a break!! What is with these parents? What is there to look forward to? And oh, yes, they are taking a limo to competition, because ALL the teams do it!
I can't imagine what it will be like in High School!

Count me in for the hot tub!!

One more observation-- My son,Hudson 7 years old, played baseball this past year and every boy on the team had the following equipment: a glove, 2 jerseys, 1 windbreaker, 1 pair of pants, 1 baseball cap, 1 stocking hat, a matching bat bag. All of these were monogrammed with their logo and name/#. Most of the kids also had a $280 big barrell bat.

Do ya'll remember the good ole days at RHS, where the number of players on the softball team was determined by how many jerseys were left over from the year before?

The only equipment you needed was a glove.

Happy belated birthday Melissa, hope it was a good one.

Allison Oney (Ouzts)

Melissa- Happy Belated birthday. Girl we really ought to get together. We only live 3 minutes from each other!
We need a parents after party. Kick the kids to the curb...Reba...where is that portable hot tub?

Tiffany- I would have croaked had they told me that when Ruth was 5. But as for the baseball...we spend thousands every year for Ruth to play competitive soccer...of course she is a sophomore in high school and is trying to get scholarships to play ball somewhere! If we just put all that money into a savings account we'd far surpass any scholarship...but it wouldn't be as much fun!

Thanks for the Bday wishes! While we're on the subject, Happy late to you Allison & early to you Ben, you're just around the corner...

Tiff you should for sure call when you are in town, I hate missing you.

Heck, i never hook up w/ folks in town, possibly it would be easier to get w u out of towners...

As for Tammy, Fred & Stanley, Please find us too, we've all got some catching up to do. We all have too much history to let another reunion get passed us. That goes for all RHS 89'rs

Allison Oney (Ouzts)

The first chance I get I'm going to dig out all my old picture albums from high school and get some good ones posted...

Chatting with everyone on here has really made me miss you guys. Maybe we should have a mini reunion sooner!

In response to Ben's first post to this forum.. I remember studying with him. We worked out various formulas such as
C6H1206-->in the presence of yeast 2CH3CH2OH + 2CO2 = Beer
We also did a large amount of test on other compounds such as N2O. The combination of these two substances could explain why neither of us have any recollection of this gravel pit thing. We also studied physics.. and proved that a car traveling at aprox 45mph comming in to contact with a 1500lb bovine will allow said bovine to overcome the force of gravity thus allowing temporary flight at an altitude of 7.8ft for 3.2 seconds.

Reba Haynie (Wimberly)

I love your intelligence Brian! I'm glad to see we are able to HONESTLY reflect upon our treasured high school years. Would I change some things?? OF COURSE! I would have had more fun if I knew I could still end up where I am now.

10/25/08 12:39 AM #21

Allison Oney (Ouzts)

Hey Reba and I had our share of physics lessons and chemistry lessons. Did you know that the chemical make up of a lemon combined with the NaCL with just a dash of "Gold" equals that whole 7.8 ft in 3.2 seconds thing to the sounds of Garth Brooks "Friends in Low Places". Then it miraculously makes you think you can just leave the car in the ditch and no one will find out. Hmmm.

And Brian, I seem to remember mixing some chemicals with you as well.

As for changing things up...heck yea. There'd be a whole lot more times on Jennifers roof, sitting in the sand at the pits, soaking it up in a hot tub, camping trips and what was that car will used to drive?...never mind. Fun times, fun times.

Allison Oney (Ouzts)

Hey, I heard earlier this week that Candices husband (Mike Shepherd) was in a very bad wreck. Does anyone know how he is doing?

10/25/08 05:36 PM #23

Reba Haynie (Wimberly)

Allison it would have worked had we not been on a major highway leading from the ONLY bar in Ringgold that closed at 12am trying to get to the one that stayed open two more hours. I have come to realize my friend Jose was with me everytime I got in serious trouble. Jennifer is not allowed to make comments regarding Jose. Now adays I only spend time with Jose in a margarita with salt on the rim. We don't get in trouble since I have decreased our intimacy (intensity)and lemon isn't involved!

Haven't heard a thing about Mike.

10/27/08 03:04 PM #24

Melissa Salter (Akers)

I heard about the wreck too, but not sure about the status. Reba, yesterday, I took Natalee by your parents and turned around in their driveway to show her where i spent many years!! Not sure what they're doing on the Webster parish side of "Hwy 7" whatever with that new #. 45mph. I told her, we had to hurry and get out of there, we drive 75-80. I'd surely get a ticket. she asked me to slow down to see what it felt like to go that slow and we did... she said people drive like this, i said, yea people in the country aren't in any hurry- would you like to finish the drive to Big Mama's like this... NO WAY!! I also pointed to Brian's house & Allison's road. She asked me how to pronounce "Pietsch" Rd. We observed one side of the whispering pines sign spelled wispering...Small town America, glad to be part of it, but not everyday!

10/29/08 09:21 PM #25

Allison Oney (Ouzts)

yea, hey what is up with that 45 mph???? I was tootling through there about 60 today and luckily didn't see any cops but shoot they'd had me dead to rights.

Yea, Jose was with us often. I meet up with him only on occasion these days. Can't hang with him the way I used too. Of course, there are days that I REALLY want to hang out with him!!!

And you are sooo right...if only we hadn't been on the only road out of town. lol. Who's up for a margarita? Superior anyone?

11/03/08 08:41 PM #26

Reba Haynie (Wimberly)

Melissa,
As I was leaving the Haynie estate on Saturday, I saw the "Wispering Pines RV" sign. My blood pressure skyrocketed! I think spelling is my MAJOR obsession. My most used book is my handy, dandy dictionary/thesaurus (YES, I know it should be my Bible, but I am human/honest enough to admit the truth)! Nothing makes me flip out more than grammatical errors. When I make one and it is pointed out to me, I want to crawl in a hole. As a result of someone not listening to their first grade teacher as she taught the 'wh' blend, I will be forced to travel the MAJOR BACKROADS to my parents to avoid having a coronary over the misspelled word 'wispering'.

As for the 45 mph sign, apparently I have been traveling TOO FAST TO SEE IT!!! Imagine that. I am proud to say that I did go long enough without receiving a speeding ticket and/or having a wreck (in my 22 years of driving)that my record was CLEAR FOR AT LEAST ONE YEAR!!!!! YEA FOR REBA! My insurance agent (Melissa) can document that. I don't want to give myself too much credit, but I think it was actually clear for close to two years. Now my two kids just say "How fast did he clock you at?" when I get back in the car. Trey even knows how to retrieve the proof of insurance and vehicle registration for me as soon as we see the lights behind us :{. I guess I'll never enjoy the benefits of State Farm. All I know is my oldest is one year away from a learner's permit and payback is hell.

11/09/08 08:12 PM #27

Allison Oney (Ouzts)

Well, being with state farm isn't all that great. They banned me for life because of all those exciting trips to and from the WHispering Pines. Go figure. Hope everyone has a great week.

Scotts Gifts in Ringgold is having their open house this Friday and Saturday. I will be helping Momma out both days. If you have time and are in town stop by! 20% off everything except Merle Norman. 10% off of that.

11/10/08 09:22 AM #28

Melissa Salter (Akers)

Well, Tiff, we love you & we'll think about ya in big G. otherwise, this forum looks only to be like a triangle, lets make it happen in person!

11/10/08 06:31 PM #29

Tiffany McGregor (Akin)

Hey, Melissa! I'll call you when I come to town!
Hudson's football team finished the season with a 10-0 record and is playing in the "Superbowl" for 6 year olds this weekend. He's plays center. He plays for the LSU team!

We need to find some more of our classmates. Does anyone ever see Melinda Young?

Melisa Lee-- Do you ever hear from Jill? Do you know how to get in touch with her?

Anyone know how to get in touch with Randall Morgan?

How about Stanley (or Larson)? If we know some of their parents' phone numbers, we can call and try to locate some more people.

Is Roderick Reliford still in town?

11/11/08 06:29 AM #30

Angie Olsson (Probst)

Oh, I love reading about all the memories that you guys have written!
I know I was boring and missed out on a lot of the fun, and I really wish I could be there to see you all again... but with two little kids (3 and 1) I think it will be too difficult. *sigh*
Now, everybody make sure to take A LOT of pictures and post so those of us who can't make it to the reunion at least can see how much fun you all had!

11/11/08 08:55 AM #31

Tiffany McGregor (Akin)

Angie-- Sorry you can't make it to the reunion (it is quite a ways from Sweden), but it is great that we can see what you have been up to for the past 20 years. Your daughter is beautiful!

11/11/08 09:03 AM #32

Tiffany McGregor (Akin)

Hey, Guys-- Candice Westberry is now on the website. I talked to her last night. Her husband (Micheal Sheppard) is now home from the hospital. He was in a horrible wreck. He was pretty lucky to make it through the wreck and will be having more surgeries as a result. I know everyone was wandering how he was doing.

Candice-- we will keep ya'll in our prayers!!

11/11/08 09:27 AM #33

Melissa Salter (Akers)

I see Melinda Young Lain every week. She is the Pep Squad sponsor at HHS. She, her husband Shawn & 2 girls are doing great. I am going to get on to her about not updating the website!! I'm pretty sure she teaches Biology, but not positive.

Angi- glad to hear from you too, I'm thinking if you got word all the way in Sweden, surely the rest of our class can get word?? Maybe some still live in Ringgold, should we place an add in the Ringgold Progress? Is there still a Ringgold Progress????

11/11/08 12:54 PM #34

Tiffany McGregor (Akin)

I don't think there is a Ringgold Progress anymore, is there?
I talked to Melinda, Bobby Pate, Candice and Margaret Walker last night. Margaret had a lot of great info. If I come up missing, call Margaret, she should be a P.I. She knew a lot of people's parents names. I left a message for Tony Johnson. Margaret thinks Anthony Roberson is in Iraq. I'm going to try to call his mama. Even if people can't come to the reunion, they can still log on to the website. I also sent a message to Joe Woodall to see if he can locate Stacy and Marsha. It got too late to make any more phone calls. Tonight, I will try to call Tony Johnson back, call Stanley's mama, call Roderick Llorens mama and try to find Roderick Reliford's number.
If anyone else can make some phone calls, that would be great. Rodney Scott's mama is Viola. I couldn't find Evelyn Reed, but Yalonda is her sister, if someone wants to try to call her. I believe Kenneth Whitfield's sister, Shaunda, works at Super Value. Veronica Moore drives a school bus in Ringgold, but I haven't found her phone number. Someone could call Chad Barmore. I didn't find Stuart Toney's number, but I found Claude Toney in the phone book--maybe they may know how to find Stuart.

Hopefully, some of these people we find will know how to get in touch with some of our other classmates.

Tiffany McGregor (Akin)

Ok, who can help me find Melanie Taylor, Lorrie Thomas, Allison Lee, Tony or Randy Wiggins?

I talked to Tony Johnson's wife, Roderick Llorens, left a message for Stanley. I hit the jackpot when I found Roderick Reliford. He is going to get in touch with Larson, Taurus, Evelyn Reed and Anthony Roberson's mother. Roderick Llorens says he will contact Corey Golatt.
