Tiff,
I told Randy's mom to tell him about logging on to the website. He doesn't have a computer so he's trying to figure a way out about that. I see Shaunda all the time. I'll talk to her too. I am not too sure about the rest though. I'll keep looking. Thanks for the update on Mike and Candice. I've been worried.

Love ya.
Allison

I'm friends with Stacey Woodall's cousin, so I got his info and sent it to Reba.

Has anyone heard from anyone else?

THIS IS A REBA POST (UNDER BEN'S NAME)!
Just in case Melissa S. was unsure!

Tiffany,
I greatly appreciate your efforts. I went through all of that ten years ago and most people in the area wouldn't even answer their phones. When I left messages, they weren't returned. I see several of the names you mentioned as I pass through Ringgold businesses (as infrequently as possible) and there is no interest, just as it was ten years ago. I don't have the enthusiasm now because Melissa Salter and I did alot of searching with little result back in 1999. Those who want to be included will show interest and get involved. I don't feel as though we should beg anyone. I lived in Shreveport for about four years and have been back in Ringgold ever since. Unfortunately, it's not like it was in the late 1980's. I think we all know that. I have heard several of our classmates are incarcerated and I don't doubt it. I'm glad you have been successful in getting in touch with many of our classmates. Ben checks the website a few times during the week, but I usually get info via him. I foresee my next opportunity to spend time on the reunion as the Christmas break. However, my mom is having hip replacement surgery the 29th of Dec. I seem to be taking many vacation days to assist my parents in their failing health. I am excited about the reunion and know it takes more than one to succeed. I recommended input for the reunion and haven't really had any. That is where we need to start. The out-of-towners need to suggest what they feel is feasible and what is the best time of year. Those of us within an hour or two can accomodate the out-of-towners. I think that is only fair! If only 10-12 give input, then that is what we should consider.

START GIVING INPUT FOLKS!! IT TAKES ALL OF US!!

It's great to see that there is a strong possibility that we will all reunite. I added my profile in somewhat of a rush, however, just want you to know that I will pass this information on to Evelyn,Larson, Stanley, Anthony R., Veronica, Christy, Roderick, Kenneth W. Ericka, Linda and Tony. To Reba I hope that there are not too many grammatical errors in this message. It's funny I was reading a novel and one of the characters who was an editor was talking about how her ex was always sending her unwanted text messages full of errors, i.e. "please except my apology". Well I better go now my 4 year old is standing here anxious to attend a birthday party. I will try to add some pictures soon, unfortunatley we lost our home to a fire Nov. 2007 and we have not yet taken time for photos. Will be in touch again soon.

Reba-- I totally understand. It seems the last time we tried to get everyone together you and Melissa S. did almost all of the work. I'm just trying to pitch in as much as I can while being out of state. I have made a lot of phone calls, but few people have actually logged on the website. At this point, I can honestly say "I tried." As before, the response has been underwhelming.

I also agree that we just need to keep moving forward with the planning stages. If anyone wants to attend, they will. The info is out there. If its just a small group again, that's okay. I've really enjoyed the website and catching up with you guys again. I love seeing the pictures of everyone and ya'lls families.

I'm sorry to hear that your parents are having health problems. I'll keep them in my prayers.

Sara-- its great to hear from you! I look forward to seeing your pictures! I'm sorry to hear about the fire.

By the way--- The McDonough Mighty Mite LSU Tigers won the Super Bowl!!!! Yeah!!! The team ended their season with an 11-0 record! I am so proud of Hudson and his teammates!

Reba-
Hey I know it can be frustrating. And you are so right, whoever (or is it whomever???) wants to participate will get on here and get involved. I ran into Sara at RHS on Friday so I'm glad to see her registered. I'll do whatever I can do for the reunion just let me know.

Tiffany-
Congrats to Hudson! Way to go! Thanks for the efforts in finding people. I've touched base with Shaunda Whitfield and Sara Patterson.

Melissa-
So I see that we are moving one step closer in the play offs! Maybe I'll see you Friday at the game! Go Bucs!

Ideas for reunion:

I think that it is more feasible to get together during the summer for the out of towners. It's hard to travel if your kids are in school. Maybe they could arrange vacations around the reunion. I would like to see us have at least one function up at the school. It would be nice for everyone to see the improvements to our facility. Maybe we could have a mini prom in the multipurpose room...lol.

Maybe not a prom...but dinner and dancing somewhere sounds like fun. I might be interested in hosting a family day at our house. Everyone could swim and cook hamburgers or boil crawfish if the season is right.

Just some ideas to get the submissions flowing.

I love all of you and I'm so excited about seeing those of you who can make it!

Reba,
Sorry to hear about your folks. I didn't realize that they were doing poorly. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Where will your mom be having her surgery?

It would be easier for me to get to town during the summer. Although, I don't know if we would be allowed to use any of the school facilities during the summer. Do ya'll know? I know that October and March would be a really hard time for me to get to town. That is Jon's busy season in sales (but I am just one person...).

I would be interested in doing something family oriented (where everyone could bring their kids) and then something with just the adults. I could use Roberta as a free babysitter. It costs too much to go out when you live out of town. By the time you pay the sitter...

I like your idea Allison.

Well, I gotta get the kids to bed. Talk to ya'll soon!!

Reba - I'm sorry to hear that your parents aren't doing well. I will keep them in my prayers.

Sara - I'm so sorry to hear about the fire.

Tiffany - Congrats to Hudson and his team!

I really wish I could be there for the reunion... Promise to take lots of pictures and post someplace (here???), will you?

11/19/08 01:19 PM #50

Allison Oney (Ouzts)

Tiff,
Yes, we can use the school any time we want I'm sure. Mr. Davis is very nice (the new principal) and he probally wouldn't mind giving me the key. We'd just have to pay the custodial staff (Mr. Mark is still there this year...but I think that he retires in May.)

I think we def. need to have at least one activity with the kids so that we can all see them!

Any ideas from anyone else?

Thanks Tiffany!
Allison

Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!!! I think we all have a lot of reasons to be thankful.

I am so thankful for my husband and kids.

I am also thankful for good friends. Even when we haven't talked in years, we can just pick back up where we left off. Love you guys!

I am also thankful camera phones weren't around when we were growing up!

I am excited about the possibility of reuniting with you guys. I haven't maintained contact with too many of our classmates. However, I will be in Ringgold for Christmas and I plan to connect with a few folks.

Tiffany, you have done an awesome job making points of contact. I didn't realize there were still so many of our classmates in Ringgold.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Heather Evans (McFarlain)

Hey everybody! I didn't realize everyone was chatting on here. Have you missed me or did you even know I was gone? Tiff, it was fun catching up with you this summer and meeting your kiddos. We'll definitely have to do that again. Maybe next summer we can plan another trip through Atlanta.

I'm going to be in town (Ringgold) this weekend. Well, I'm leaving tomorrow morning, Wed. and will be going home on Saturday. Anybody up for early morning shopping on Friday or meeting me for lunch somewhere in S'port/Bossier that day? If so, call my mom's house and let her know. 894-5511 I get zero cell reception within a 10 mile radius of the big R, otherwise I'd tell you to call my cell.

Geez, thinking back on those days of old... what a saint I was! I only hosted those hot tub parties, I never actually did anything bad at them. Too bad my dad moved to Jamestown and sold the big party house. It would have been so much fun to reunite on that back deck. Oh well... Gravel pits, trips to Coushatta, riots at the pool hall. What fun we had! I swear if my two little girls ever thought about doing anything like that, I'd have to kill them!! At least I know the tricks and am wiser now. Right Ben?

As for the reunion, I think summer would be easiest for me too. Mary is always up for babysitting and like Tiff said, it's so freaking expensive to go out anymore that we rarely do anything. For me, mid to late July or early August would work. My kids do summer swim team and their finals are sometime in July. I like the idea of having a casual get together where we can all talk and hear each other. Yes, all that loud 80's music has damaged my hearing!! It will be fun just seeing everyone again.

Hey everyone, I hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to this holiday season. As we enter this Thanksgiving season, I am indeed thankful to see and hear from so many of you. I look forward to the reunion. Its also great to see that we can at least keep in touch near or far through this site. Keeping you all in my prayers.
God Bless, and Happy Thanksgiving.

Oh, I will add pictures of my family soon.

Oh my, I haven't logged on in a week, and look what I missed. I feel like I was out sick from school or something...Tiff, thanks so much for finding and getting such good responses. All I can say is one of two things.. Either #1, In 1999, folks didn't really miss each other yet or #2 You were really more popular and sweeter than Reba and I :-) LOL whatever works. I miss everyone, does it sound like 90210, i mean 71068???

I'm up for lunch with a group getting together this weekend for fun or Christmas, Tammy, Fred, Heather are a few that have mentioned...just call 318-218-8394.

I've finally added some pics. Don't freak out if you haven't seen me fat, it's ok, i'll be fat a few years, then skinny, well, medium, then fat again, i'm on my way back down, then probably up again. I'm healthy and happy!! Hope to see ya'll soon.

WOAH!!! Apparently I mislead folks in the health of my parents. Yes, my mother spends most of her free time going to doctors and I wonder at times if 'hypocondria' is her diagnosis. I love her, but I am my father's daughter while Ann is my mother's child. Daddy is probably in worse physical health than Mama, but you would never know it. Daddy will work until he dies. Anyway, I help them out with outpatient surgeries, dr. appointments, and other things. They aren't close to nursing home status yet.

As far as getting access to Ringgold High School, Daddy is the Building/Maintenance Supervisor over Bienville Parish Schools so there will be no problem getting access to the school. I'm sure Mr. Davis will be happy to accomodate us!

YES!! The school complex would be great for a family gathering/BBQ (whatever)! They have a wonderful, new inside complex as well as outside play equipment children will love. I think this will be great so even if it rains we can have inside activities planned for backup. Most of our focus (and $$$) will probably be going toward the adult evening.

I think the out-of-towners should have the most input as to what date. It is obvious the summer is best for them from the few posts so far. Memorial Day, July 4th, another date??? Fred will be in during Christmas and I know where to find him!! Fred, I will be getting in touch with you during the holidays. Anyone else in town we need to try and pinpoint a couple of possible dates.

My husband is being rude to me saying this isn't an essay contest, but a message forum. He claims I type too much at one time. So, SORRY! I will close with this: I have nothing to do Friday, so if Heather, Melissa, and anyone else are meeting for lunch call me at home 894-7133 or at my parents 894-9148.

Can I go to lunch on Fri., I like to drink too.

11/26/08 09:32 PM #58

Melissa Salter (Akers)

so Friday, does that mean, ya'll will NOT have your kids, since you will be shopping. let me know so i can see where i can send Nat!! Are ya'll thinking Nicky's or Chili's in Bossier...just throwing out idea's, if we figure out something now, maybe we can shop or plan around what time we can meet up.

11/27/08 10:34 AM #59

Angie Olsson (Probst)

I wish I was there with you guys! I would love to meet up on Friday...

Hope you all are having a great Thanksgiving!

11/27/08 10:41 AM #60

Reba Haynie (Wimberly)

This is the deal Melissa A. and I decided upon for Friday after Thanksgiving for anyone shopping in Shreveport/Bossier. We will meet at Chili's in front of the KMart on Hwy. 80 (or is it East Texas?? I think it is both) in Bossier around 2pm. The LSU game is at 1:30pm so I will probably be there a while!! Plan on sitting in view of a tv. This usually means the bar area.

I will have NO kids with me. Other folks children don't bother me one bit. However, I will be enjoying an adult beverage. See you Friday!
