Hey John - what can I say about Gilbert Rainey. I dont know what class was better for me - Frosh year algebra or Soph year algebra - either way I will never forget Dan Moorehouse stabbing me with a pencil in the hand! I had to ask permission from Mr. Rainey to go to the nurses office as the blood is dripping down my hand into a pool on my paper! Oh yea - good times! I still have the piece of lead in my hand!

Rena- I'm with you....Don't remember many of these teachers! I guess Mr. Matthews left a lasting impression on all of us. I too remember flying furniture. The only thing I learned from that poor guy was what "Insubordination" meant (the reason for every 8th hour he gave me).
I also remember Mr. Ware not showing up for class, and was nice enough to leave his grade book open on his desk, with the grades written in pencil. Thanks to Terry Grove, Bill and I passed his class with flying colors. He would literally pass us his test to us when he was done with it.
I would also still like to know what Mr. Enge did in his closet for half of the class... Smirnoff or Absolute?
And, if anyone has the video from our actual graduation ceremony I would pay money just to see the first 10 minutes of it. I still believe we should have all turned around and walked out to boycott them not letting Pete graduate with us. Especially all of us who spent the afternoon in the woods with him!!!

was that Pete swearing in the back? Tony's banner is in the video too! I don't remember any of that.

I can't believe it we said the Pledge and used the word "God" ....we also read a prayer and said god in that too...How did we ever survive that?

one more thing why do the kids today get to eat food for lunch that actually sounds like it might taste good?

Paul Bronsteader It is possible. If I can get it, I can burn a dvd of the ceremony and if we can find a projector, we can show it on a big screen. If we can't find a projector, I can show it either on my computer or small dvd player. Anyone have a projector?

Bill Burris Franny.....you are right, I totally forgot about Tommy Grove. However, I do recall actually making some (shall we call them alterations) to the grade book? As for graduation, you all make me want to go get checked out by a Dr, I dont remember anything about Tony Molenda or Petey Boy Hett on Grad day.

The “Tony Molenda -- the world is yours” banner is a true story. Last name obligations had me sitting next to Tony at the ceremony, we got to talkin’, and I asked him about the banner and he said the theatre gang did it, unknown to him. Tony turned out to be a fellow SIU Saluki; and I would often run into him at the library, and I would rib him about that banner. Good times.

Speaking of Bulldog / Saluki’s, thanks to Nancy Kwas for the well wishes. Coincidentally-- Nancy’s and my parents are both retired in Mountain Home Arkansas. Don’t worry Fish, you’re still my soul mate...

Shawn: Mr. Koch couldn’t have said mmmmk (ok) more if he was paid by the ok. I used to keep tallies, but it cut into my napping.
