I'm with ya Bill... Monday Night Football or PC I can't decide!!!
Once the reunion is over I thought I might have a chance to get caught up at work. I'm glad I'm not the only one that held onto high school way too tight.

Yeah, yeah, yeah ... and I ate my pencils ... and sometimes I dressed up like Wonder Woman. Big whoop.
:D

Stone Soup - you are killing me.

Yes, Ms. Phillips = Mrs. Perona. The Ice Cream Socials at Hollywood.

That car had a big engine. I was hardly touching the gas pedal! My motto - "It's not how fast you drive, it's how you handle your car".

Anyway, I drive S-L-O-W now because I have babies. Even when they are not with me. Now it's a habit.

We should have a diaper genie refill contest at the reunion. Good luck Dave P.!

PS - I'm a forum addict.

All I can picture is some kind of garage door opener that rips diapers off kids.

I forgot about Wonder Woman and the paper bracelets that you made. Great stuff!

I couldn't resist showing something from the video that I found so why not some Puppettes? Here is the link...

Shawn,

My favorite memory of you is standing on a big mountain of rocks behind the pavilion at Kiwanis Park - in your light blue and white sweater - I'm pretty sure you had the "side braid" going - doing "Beautiful Ones" by Prince.

Good times ...

Paul,
The Tony Molenda site scared me!

DAVE - GOOD CALL , BUT I GOT ANOTHER ONE ... MNF , PC or CHI. CUBS ...

JOHN WITT - I READ AN ARTICLE ABOUT YOU IN THE "NATIONAL" SPORTS WEEKLY A COUPLE MONTHS BACK. PRETTY COOL ! YOU STILL HANGING OUT ON WAVELAND ?

09/22/08 10:38 PM #127

Bryan Riess (Riess)

Hey Boz - do you still play fantasy baseball with my dad?

BTW - good call with the Cubs. This is the year!

Shawn Brower (Holzman)

Katie- That's a crazy photographic memory!
One of my faves- is riding bikes (I almost think we were on a tandem bike) singing "the look of love"...then re-enacting a movie scene on a pile of rocks at kiwanis- acting like one of us fell off a cliff in slow-mo
Better yet, speaking of movies- how about "the O"!!!!!! Do you remember?! What was that english teacher at Hauser that kinda busted us?
And wonderwoman- how praytell can I forget....I'll tell you how, cuz I'm still scarred from my mother encouraging me to dress up as Olivia Newton John in 3rd grade for Halloween- not the sweet 50's poodle skirt wearing Olivia- the SLUTTY black spandex, fake cigarette smoking, red lipstick Olivia! What mother would do that to a 9 year old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Scarred I tell you!

The Molenda site scared me too. I am not sure what is going on there.

I'll probably arrive wearing the Olivia costume!

Bryan - yes i am . only see him around the draft though . hows he doing ?
maybe we should do a shot in his honor - do you want to use joe's or bill's bellybutton - you can't go wrong w/ either . i'm not doing grey goose , maybe 1800 !

I've been disappointed by the Cubs forever. In fact I remember Mr. Clifford in Freshman spanish letting us listen to the losers in the playoffs. Remember the blue headsets that were hanging from the ceiling? Of course I put mine on and put my feet under the desk legs and was "flying"... Cliffy loved that. It was Clifford right?

In the Northwest folks are VERY concerned with the "Healing Arts" and I thought I might organize a Class of '88 post reunion forum addiction therapy group. I am in need. Since I'm so far away the only format that would be appropriate is...um...here.

Incidentally--we'll be at the beach this weekend without Grey Goose...just Patron and a little lime? I will be toasting my classmates and so many great memories (that I had no idea I'd want to resurrect until now)!

Si ... thats about the extent of my spanish . clifford reminded me of burl ives . every time i went into his class , i thought of that damn snowman from rudolph ! ok - time to go , just busted my 4 yr. old drawing graffiti on my hardwood floors w/ sharpie marker !!!

09/22/08 10:58 PM #135

David Piekut

But the snowman was straight. ;-)

"All I can picture is some kind of garage door opener that rips diapers off kids". HILARIOUS.

Shawn, where do I start??? Slo-mo cliff diving. I forgot until just now. The "O"? No, I don't remember that ;)

"The Look of Love" - what a great song. Did I just say that? Paul, are you doing the music? Should I (we) bring CDs?

So you were pick-pocketing the gillion-pocket lady. That's why I never got a plastic spider ring!

You dress up as slutty Olivia and maybe I'll come as a gypsy ... or a hobo.

I saw Coach Enge last summer. He is/was coaching girls' tennis at Downers Grove North. I stopped at RB for something and saw Mrs. Goldberg, whose girls go there or play there and she told me. I went out to a match to see him (he was my coach from little kid through high school). He's the same. It was cool.

I am doing a couple playlists on a couple ipods and going to let them go. Right now I have about 6 hours worth of 80's music. I wasn't going to dj, but provide the music so I can socialize too. Bring some cd's or ipod if you like. I have a cd player in the rack.

Bryan Riess (Riess)

Boz - Joe scares me with his flexibility - but the toast is cool.

Anyone remember Coach Riess (okay, my dad) making us do jock inspections at Gross School? He still does that to me now. Okay, he doesn't really, but he jokes about it. But his all time best is telling Kevin Janiak that he does lay-ups like he's got a load in his pants!

Bryan Riess (Riess)

Checked out the Molenda site, and you guys are right - scared me too. He was sitting on the screen waiting for someone to talk to him. I was too afraid to.

09/22/08 11:19 PM #141

David Piekut

Paul, Let me know if you need anything. I hate to admit it but I have XM only for the 80s channel and have a massive collection on the Ipods. So whatever you need bra.

Enge is now at Nazareth. He is a GREAT neighbor. Scares some of the new neighbors because he LOVES! kids and he will speed down the street in his little red car, drive right into your drive and start talking to the kids then look at the mom say hi intro himself and be on his way. I have had to talk to several neighbors and explain that he truly is a nice guy. He has an annual Christmas party for the block...going on 30 years now. Next time I see him I will let him know that some students still fondly remember him. His wife passed about 6 years ago and every summer he houses kids in tennis programs from all over and lets them live and work tennis in Illinois.

Hey anyone remember when the pig got loose in the school? No me either, but it would have been funny had it happened. We were right next to the zoo. Just trying to create a memory - real or not. Paul, do u happen to have any cheerleading footage? Remember we were the ones standing on the sidelines every game, rain or shine! We even had guy Cheerleaders!

09/22/08 11:30 PM #143

Paul Bronsteader

I don't have much cheerleader footage, if any. I don't know why my dad wouldn't have taken any video of the cheerleaders. Maybe Mike will have some on the football highlights. Dave, bring your ipod full of Cyndi Lauper, Poison, Def Leppard, RATT, WHAM!, etc.

I know I saw Enge at the liquor store on 83 just before Christmas...probably for the big neighborhood Christmas party. He was wearing his cross country skiing outfit.
