OMG, I forgot about the drills at Lake Park Elem. we had to bring canned juice too and white sheets, I guess to deflect the radio active fallout, then I guess we were supposed to drink the juice if we survived.

My family moved here from PA in 1956, first to Ft. Lauderdale for a year then Lake Park. I started part way thru 1st grade I think. with Mrs. Wilson (deaf and brace on her leg). She used to pull me around by my ear or hair for talking too much (imagine that). I will never forgive Laurie Van Duesen for inviting her to one of our reunions. I got an upset stomach just looking at her.

Donna,

I'm shocked, SHOCKED, that you've forgotten the RBHS Class motto: "SURF, SEX, BEER AND WINE, WE'RE THE CLASS OF '69."

Dotage is hell, I guess.

I'm in town and have taken a bit of a ride around. Riviera Beach has certainly changed in the last 30 years! PBG is a maze to me. I hope I can find Jupiter. See you later today.

I just want to add my 2 cents, imagine that, Donna thank you for everything. The party was a blast! It is truely wonderful to see everyone. Donna, I have the mints in my car and they are really good. I ate them on the way to my hotel, which by the way is the Doubletree!! The Marriott overbooked!

Donna and crew,
This was a truly amazing weekend! Donna, you are a magician for pulling this thing off. As a reunion virgin, I was worried about not knowing people after 40 years, if old cliques were still around, how bored my wife would be, etc. I needn't have worried. The attitude was, "We're 58, get over it!". My wife told me what a wonderful group of people we were. Everyone was gracious and welcoming. I'm thrilled I came and can't wait for the next one. Let's all just stay healthy. Well, it's 7:45 and I have to get ready for the Hornet Buzz. Thanks again to Donna and her terrific team. God bless you all!

THANK YOU; everyone of you who made this past weekend a awesome event. Donna & Jim volunteers you must feel 10' tall. You pulled off a Great Party and I hope to see most of you at the next one. If anyone knows what Pat Kelly and Hunter have been eating and drinking for the last 40-years pass it on, we should all be so young.

Thank you all for attending your once in a lifetime 40th Reunion! Who ever said you can't have too much fun!

Super job Donna Day.... you delivered another beautiful baby and I'm glad I was present..... and thank you pretty lady for taking the reins in your hands so long ago to make this all happen! .... And huge thanks to Don Bailey for being such a sport and such a support to Donna through all her labor and our craziness!

List is way, way too long to thank all those that kicked in to pull this baby off!

Yeah, this reunion was definitely one for the record books not only for all the fun that happened this weekend, but also for how this Forum has allowed us to catch up, share our lives, and renew our friendships!

To Donna and the Reunion Committee:

You all did a superb job for pulling this together given the late start. Donna, thank you for taking the lead and bringing us into the 21st century with this web site. Hopefully over the next five years we can track down the rest of our classmates and have an even bigger turnout in 2014.

Ron Doll: Great job on pulling Thursday's pre-reunion party together. You're nominated to do it again at the next one.

Our theme for this event should be "Night of the Living Dead" with a picture of Gary Teeter on the cover.

Again, thanks for a great weekend and I must agree with Jack Rhine's comments from the last reunion: "I had a great time, just keep my name off the Memorial Board!"

All the best,
Travis

I am not sure who all to thank, but you did a wonderful job with our 40th, my wife and I had a truly great time at the reception. My reget is that we missed Thursday's beach party. Of course I must give a special shout out to Donna for letting us win at tennis; she and Don are indeed special.

To all of my classmates and most of all to my close friends......many thanks for the wonderful time we had at the reunion. Mary and I talked about it much of the drive home to Destin. We had a great time and I really appreciate how welcome we felt after such a lengthy time away. I can't get over how easy it was to fall back in with so many of you. To all of you who worked so diligently on the entire process, thank you. I will stay in touch and promise that it won't be thirty years until my next visit. It was fabulous! Good fortune to all.

WOW, what a wonderful weekend and a heartfelt thank you to Donna and Jimmy and Ron et al. for putting such a wonderful weekend together - it was awsome! I have been replaying the events of the weekend and every clip was terrific. It was interesting to revive old memories and perhaps even better to replace some of those old memories with newer and more gentle memories of the really good people we seem to have grown into. My best to all and looking forward to seeing you in five!

I am so happy to hear how many people enjoyed themselves. It sure looked that way.. It was a labor of love.. I really enjoyed all of this. I am so blessed to have good friends who chipped in and helped me with everything. My reception table with Peggy and Bobbie and Chip did a bang up job.. Laurie's daughter, Lacey manned the table and let us all have time to eat.. God bless her.. Russ, Rim, Ron, Jack,Laurie and Metcalf are the best of the best at what they do and did. A special thank you needs to go to our big hitters Ellrich and Barnhart. Without their resources we couldn't do this in the style you all deserve. I smiled so much my cheeks hurt, I danced so much my feet hurt and it feels good to be exhausted from laughing and talking. No one had more fun than I did.. except maybe Ron Doll..

If anyone lost the card from the photographers the web site is www.DawnKingPhotography
The pix look great.
Valerie Dettman has a website to share your pictures. Send them to RBHS69@Detsco.com - the site she set up is www.Detsco.com/RBHSmemories/

Now that I am home to laundry and broken toilets - I no longer feel like the party queen of this weekend.

Maybe we will try to have a mini reunion cruise in 2 years..let me know if you would be interested.. just a weekender..

If I forgot to thank you ..forgive me.. Love, Donna

Yes, I could not agree more I had a wonderful time and thank you Mr. Doll for being such an interesting dance partner. The bump on my head is much better and I hope your nose it too!! I got to party on Sunday night too for my baby brothers (52) birthday party. I have called Betty Ford Clinic to make arrangements to check in... Thought I was going to have the whole week off but am going to City College,PA this afternoon and come home tomorrow. I know I spoke to one of our classmates that lives in City College (home of Penn State) but I can't remember who it was? In any event I will not be there long enough to hook-up.

Thanks again to Donna D. and the rest of the committee for the memories. And thanks to everyone who may have extended my life by providing me with an aerobic work- out. If anyone finds out what Hunter is taking I will do the research on it and negociate a contract with a pharmaceutical company ;) Love you guys and please lets keep in touch.

Dear Ann,

It's State College, PA, not City College, as my Uncle Clyde Doll lives there!

Look him up and give him a call, he's good friends with Papa Joe!

Don't give Unc Clyde too many details as I want to keep up my family image, if ya know what I mean!

Your the dancer.... I'm a trash dancer!... Nose is good, sorry about the bump.... I thought you were Lott.

I too want to thank everyone who made it possible.. By now, we know the key people who worked hard to allow most of us to fly in, have fun, and go home.. It all went by so fast, I'd like to do it again next weekend! My favorite memory was playing drums and looking out at the smiling faces of folks I've known for, in some cases, fifty years! It made me feel like I was seventeen again!! I think we all know how hard it is to feel like that, these days.. I know people who say they dont have high school reunions.. I think how sad that is.. But thanks to you, we continue to meet up every five years and enjoy seeing each other and feeling like it's 1969 again! Ya just can't beat that!!

Some thoughts sitting here in the Sky Club in Detroit:
Doll: you only trash danced once! Now I am aware of the anology regarding someone who builds many bridges then does that other thing one time and they don't call him a bridge builder anymore (if you don't understand call me I will explain) you are a wonderful dancer!!

Styles: you are a fabulous drummer, OMG, I did not realice how talented you are. I kept hoping you would jump up on stage and take those sticks away from the other guys (although they were good) you really appeared to be enjoying yourself and that was part of the pleasure of listening!

Oh, Doll you are so right drove by the stadium today, pretty impressive. I got in at 11:30PM and le
ft at 4:30PM today no time for visiting!! I hope Uncle Clyde is nicer than those bitches I visited today! Luckily I charmed them but it took about all of my patience!
Oh well, part of the job! I just expected them to be nicer cause I'm from PA!!

Ann,
You are so right! I was enjoying myself.. That may have been my first solo in thirty years.. no kidding.. Your comments afterwards really made my night!
Thank you..

Hey Everyone,

I'm back on the left coast (as my friend J.Rhine likes to call it) and I am still grinning ear to ear from all the fun we had last weekend. I loved seeing everyone and renewing "old" friendships!

To Donna and the reunion committee - Stellar Job!!!!!
My patient and long suffering husband Jim says he now doesn't want to attend his reunion next month because he knows it will never be as good as ours was. He agrees that we really had something special as a class.

I wanted to name some people who really contributed to my having a wonderful weekend but I'm so afraid I'll leave someone out that I'll just say everyone looked great to me and I look forward to our next reunion!!!!

Let's keep in touch!

Donna

What happened to Meehan?? Has anyone heard from him? Meehan where are youuuuuuu!!!!

06/11/09 08:19 PM #260

Cheryl Polley (Briscoe)

Meehan's brother had a heart attack Sat morning - that's why John didn't show up at the Buzz. Last I heard from him, he said his brother was stable, but I haven't heard anything since Tues evening. I hope everything is ok.
