If you would like to see what the school will look like after the construction is complete.. Click on the above link and the pic is at the top of the page on the right..

Thanks Steve.. I am glad to know that some of you are still checking in.. Maybe alot of us that are close could do a BIG picninc in the late spring/early summer.. Maybe rent a pavillion at a local park and those of you with younger kids or grandkids can bring them and turn them loose.. That would be a blast.. Maybe we can fly Billy Bova in for the entertainment!!!!

Keep it in mind... Catch you guys on Friday night!!
Cross your fingers for a win!!!

I am still here too!

Are they just doing the front entrance? Looks like it could be the same guy who designed the Taubman Art Museum!? Kinda weird looking and not really in keeping with the brick "box" facade.
Oh well, welcome to 2009!

Nice website CS has, good thing they didn't have stuff like that when we were there, we'd just be getting out of jail if Mrs. Bostian had had a digital camera on the smoking block!

Picnic would be fun, we can chip in for a bus ticket for Bova to make it up here (via Omaha). You know how he is about flying into Hooterville, we'd have to chip in again for bail money.

Hey guys.Nice to see some of you on here. I haven't logged on for a while. Looking forward to seeing more pictures. Forwarding this website that Hensley got from Victor. It's Doug Settles' alter ego doing impressions of Neil Diamond and Elvis. It's a riot!

Senior night at Cave Spring found us up against a might strong Salem team. I am hating the fact that I seem to be the bearer of bad news.. Salem 31 Cave Spring 0... ALl i can say was.... IT WAS SALEM!.

One more to go... "away" to Hidden Valley.. I so hate walking to the away side fo Bogle Field to watch the game... Such a sore spot with so many Cave Spring parents... Hope to see some of you there......

Dorothy, I swear if I ever have to fly into Hooterville again I will whack somebody in the head before I get out of that place!

Now that gas prices have declined I will just drive!

Bug, in the last 2 weeks over this election my blood pressure, both measurements, has gone up 15 points!

I am going to the islands soon for at least one week!

Congratulations Peverall!!! How have you managed to dodge that bullet for so long??
I actually got 'recognised' at the reunion as one that has been married the most and that is only twice?!?
Good to hear from you, haven't run into you for a long time? Take care.

Well, the end of a long painful football season came to an end last night as the Knights were "away" to Hidden Valley. Dsspite the best efforts from our guys, we lost 27-6. Josh Woodrum played his usual great game and I for one ams excited to be seeing him back next year. The guys played hard all year. It is just too bad that the ended record does not reflect it. Basketball season is around the corner and they are really excited about it. There is a name on the team you may know. Mr. Clay Lacy Jr. is a Junior and will be a valuable addition to the team. I don't make as many basketball games as I did football, but I will update those of you who check in when I can... Have a great weekend.....

Greg Caldwell

It's pure blasphemy for the Knights to be away on their own field. Hidden Valley needs to "spread the wealth" and build their own stadium..."that's all I got to say about that"

11/12/08 12:54 PM #399

Linda Grubb

Greg... trust me when I tell you that that is all you heard from 75% of the parents that had to truck their butts to that away side... The best thing I have seen is 2 years ago when we were away. The CS cheerleaders came out with the banner for the players to run through and the statement was priceless.... "THIS IS OUR FIELD"!! It bought large cheers from our side and quite a few boos from that "other" side......

11/12/08 05:27 PM #400

Marion Naff (Kepley)

You do know that Hidden Valley parents (like myself) wish we had our own field. This is a central office issue and it should be addressed there. Jeff and I have a senior in the band and we thought it was a super night for her. Of course, HV enjoyed the game Friday night!!!!!!!!!!!!

11/14/08 11:31 AM #401

Debbie Brooks (Hite)

As well as a Central office issue it was an issued with the people that live in the area. If I remember correctlly they were planning on building a stadium but the neighbors were not happy to have stadium lights that close to their homes. I think it is a lose lose situation for all involved. I am not sure how they got around it when other field have been built.

Hey all!
Check out my profile picts, you'll find a surprise! 2nd picture from the top.

Brian.. Had I of known where you were.. I would of showed with about 100 of my closest friends from the "away" side to join you. The CS band did play before the game. Since it was the last home game for HV it was Senior night and the band for HV played the halftime show. All of the CS band was there. It was a small, but powerful one this year. We were missing our cheerleaders, as they were at a competition.
Hope to run into you soon... Take care....

*****Didn't Higgy Baby & BB's hair use to be this long?*****

Va school board sued over in-class haircut, 11/27/08 RTWN

ROANOKE, Va. (AP) -- The family of an 11-year-old middle school student is suing the Roanoke County School Board, claiming the boy was given an unwanted haircut by his teacher in class.

Harvey Lutins, the lawyer representing Alexander Allen Brown, says the teacher had complained earlier about the student's prominent bangs.

Lutins says the teacher, who isn't named in the complaint, later "butchered" Brown's hair in front of his class at Hidden Valley Middle School.

Lutins calls the haircut an invasion of privacy and an affront to the student's rights.

The lawsuit seeks $1,000 in compensatory damages and $50,000 in punitive damages.

Roanoke County Schools Superintendent Lorraine Lange declined to comment on the complaint, saying it's a personnel matter.

*****Watch-out Higgy Baby, you better run, too, Billy Bova!*****
