Another fight with PH has come and gone... And I hate to have to tell you that PH won tonight 14-7. I offer no excuses... We just didn't have our ducks in a row.. It was nice to see Nancy Farmer who was manning one of the concession stands for PH!!!
See lots of you tomorrow.....

All,

Thanks so much for the wonderfull evening at the reunion. It was a great to see everyone, and hear their stories.

Funny though, to look at a person and think I know them but I can't put a name with the face. Get the name off their nametag, look at their face again and think "oh yeh".

I think we are all ageing pretty well....everyone looks really good.

To Fred and Ralph - sorry that I couldn't place that 4-iron on #18. I feel bad about blowing that shot.

THANK YOU Betsy for all that you have done to put this together!!!

THANK YOU to everyone else, who were involved in putting this thing together!!!

And A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO ALL WHO WERE THERE!!!

I second Steve's thank you to Betsy Crow.

Great planning and persistence--really a gift to all of us classmates who attended or just reconnected through this Web site.

Thank you.

What a wonderful weekend! Many thanks to Betsy and the production team for all your efforts! It was wonderful to see so many friends from the past and to enjoy an evening together again. Everyone looks great—doing better than simply “holding up”, I might add! Thanks for making it possible for so many of us to re-connect via the reunion site as well as in person over the weekend!

Great job Betsy. Thank you for your sacrifice. I had a great time catching up but was disappointed with how many people I did not get to talk to. I guess I will have to wait until the 40th. What a great turn out!

p.s. I have got to find my Annual!

WOW.. what a night.. I think that all of us had a blast.. It was great to see everyone again..
We had back to school night tonight at CS and I ran into Tina Bostian... I had quite a few of you asking me if I had any news about Mrs. Bostian. Tina was telling me that her Mom is not doing very well.. She is having a hard time with her memory and she is having alot of bad back pain. She has high blood pressure that they have had to try quite a few meds on to get it under control. Tina and I only had a minute to talk, but I gave her my phone number and told her to call me. She said that her Mom probally would not remember alot of us by name, but she does remember that she once knew a face. Tina is going to give me her Mom's address and she has told me I can post it here.. She said she knew her Mom would love to get a card from any of us... We owe her that... NO matter if she did give you detition!!!!
Thanks again Betsy... You did a great job on the reunion and I promise to fill up my journal and keep up the posts.. !!!

All,

The reunion was so much fun, Friday and Saturday night. On Friday night Doug's band was fantastic and there were alot of people from the class of 77 there as well.
Thanks Betsy for all that you did to help put this together. I have not had that much fun in a long time!! Ironically, I just went to back to school night at Cave Spring High School for my son and I saw Mark Coleman, Denise Hindle, Linda Grubb and Alan Woodrum walking down the hall like old times, too funny. It was great seeing everyone again and Wendy, I loved having you girls over, just like old times. Take Care, Bosco

Listen-up now, you slackers out there. The party's over, you people get back to work now and pay some taxes.

You folks in Roanoke, I love ya dearly, but that airport you have is like flying into HOOTERVILLE!!! You go talk to those people on the airport commission and tell them you want some action on improvement, or you will whack the crooked politicians that appoint them at the polls next election.

Wow, what a fabulous weekend, weather was perfect, all of the girls were perfect, fun, fun, fun...

Betsy and company rule the year, no doubt!!!

Now throw away those AARP cards, forget about collecting social security, Wall Street stole-it. Get to work and teach your kids how to be productive.

Remember to live healthy, strive for wisdom, and don't let folks like me offend you, I will grow-up when I want to!!!

Hey everyone, you all recovered yet?

I'm not going to thank Betsy cause she told me Sat nite that if I thanked her again she would kick my a$$, so I'll thank everyone else involved that I missed!

To you my fellow alumnussessses that were with us, I do want to thank you all for sharing a bit of your lives with me and making me feel like a kid again! We have all had a big chunk of life happen since we were together in HS but you'd have never known it seeing us Fri & Sat nights!
The years, wrinkles and greys washed away and the faces were beaming. You could cut the fun and emotion with a knife!

You guys all ROCK!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just a note to those (especially the locals) who felt it beneath them to join us, even to the point of being rude to the planning committee that worked so hard to get in touch with them....
YOU SUCK!
To feel that CS never did anything for you; means nothing to you, and holds no fondness in your heart in my opinion excludes you from our class.
Put your head back up your a$$ where it belongs and know that you missed reconnecting with a hundred or so people that have a commonality no others ever will
......YOUR YOUTH!
I too enjoyed getting to see everyone. Just wish I had gotten a chance to speak to more people. I hope everyone made some great memories to tide them over until our next reunion. I know I'll be laughing and smiling for a long time! Best to everyone and stay in touch on this website!
I want to add my thanks to Betsy to everyone else's to let her know what an awesome thing she created. Friday night was great. Going in with no name tags was like trying the trapeze with no net -- it was frightening, dangerous, and exhilerating all at the same time. The golf outing was a lot of fun (Thanks John!), and the reunion itself was a great joy. I'm very proud of the people we all became. I think Cave Spring expects a little extra out of its students, and you guys have lived that through the last 30 years. I'm sure the next 10 years will go very fast, and I'm already wondering what that reunion will be like.
It was worth the trip!!! Too long of a drive and short for time !! - - like most of us - I only got to talk to half (or less) of you who were on ‘my list’ – and who say we need to wait 5 more years . . . Like to see some of the Pic’s posted on the site – I only took a few and Yes, I will share them!! Thanks to all of you !
What a great time. It was just awesome getting to see everyone again after all these years. So many of you have not changed at all....other than growing up. Some haven't even done that yet, LOL.
It was a blast, and something I will remember for a long time. I really enjoyed talking to those of you who I had the chance to.......others that I did not, but saw from a distance, and wanted to.....
I've thanked Betsy a dozen times, so I won't do that again, but she knows how special she is!
Please stay in touch, and for those "locals", come out this winter and catch a Cave Spring High School Knights basketball game. You'll probably see an "old" familiar face on the bench!
I hope all the locals will re-connect and enjoy each other. You guys are lucky to still be close enough to do so and it's a great way for us out-of-staters to keep up with you guys!Hopefully it won't be too long until I'm back up that way. I'm not planning on letting another 10 years go by before I see those Virginia mountains again! Harry offered to build our class a retirement complex so....?!
Just had to say thank you, thank you, thank you to all who made the weekend so awesome. I too, loved seeing all of you guys. I'm telling my friends here, I felt like, and acted like, I was back in high school. It's taken me all week to recover. And I agreed, I think I aged several years in those few days, WHAT FUN! Even though I haven't kept in touch with you guys, I felt like the years had melted away and absorbed all the positive energy we all shared. Everyone looks great and so many wonderful success stories. I also agree, we need to stay in touch through this great website. My sister, who is on the class of 75 reunion planning committee, has already copied this website idea. It really has helped remembering who everyone is and catching up on the past 30 years. I can't wait to see everyone's pictures.
Betsy got the picts up!
I am seeing alot of people that I didn't even know were there & didn't get a chance to talk.
Guess the night was too short, maybe next time!
To any I missed, I'm sorry, it wasn't intentional.
Still absorbing all that I did get...great weekend!
Glad to see the couple of shots of Settles and Woods, I thought I had one of Edwards playing too but it didn't come out.
Yo Mulder, you're the only X I've had that I was so happy to see, glad they got a shot of us...drink much?
Well, Mike tried to talk me into going on down to Philly and ridineg down with him. As it turned out, I couldn't have done it anyway because my mother-in-law died a few days before.
Anyway, it looks like you had a great time, according to the pictures. The ladies looked sharp but I can't figure out where all those old guys came from. I think Mike has a good idea about holding reunions more often. For one thing, the signs of aging will be less dramatic. Other venues might be a good idea. We have some nice resorts up here in Vermont. Everyone could ski in the winter or go sailing with me in the summer.
By the way Mr. Bova, If you did come to a Vermont mini reunion. You would love our "Hooterville" airport. Our main terminal building was built backwards just like the one in Roanoke. Go figure!
Congradulations on a very successful reunion to all who were there!
Back to a week of football... I can't give you a first hand report this time.. As I am home nursing a cold and the low here last night was 45!! So I decided home was probally better for me. We were away tonight at William Byrd and I hate to report that we lost 21-16.
We have Homecoming next week.. If you are local, It would be great to see your smiling face in the stands at Bogle supporting the Knights.... We play Blacksburg!!! Come on out and join us!!
Hey all.. I am sorry I am late with a football update.. It is homecoming and all of you that have lived thur getting a 16 year old FEMALE... ready for a dance... God bless you.... I am exhausted!! I hate to report that the Knights did not fair to well in the game last night. Blacksburg came to town and gave them a rough night. It was an exciting game, but in the end we lost 28-14. Josh Woodrum was responsible for all 14 points and Taylor, Alan's oldest son was named homecoming prince.. Congrats to both of them... We are home to Pulaski next week..
10/17/08 11:23 PM #380
Linda Grubb
A cold, rainy Friday night brought Pulaski to Bogle Field. Sorry to say.. Another week I opted to stay home. Pulaski took the lead and I guess the Knights never knew that hit them.. WE lost 42-0. We travel to Christiansburg next week, then back home to Salem on Halloween...
Hope eveyone is doing good........
