To all:

I hope everyone has a safe trip to the reunion that can attend. And for those that do not come, please update the news of your life on the website.

It has been a real treat seeing how folks are doing through this portal.

BETSY CROW and her team deserve a huge THANKS from us all for pulling this together, for organizing the website, and a ton of other details.

Best to you all, Happy 30th times, and good luck.

Hey Laura!!!!!!! The new stadium is actually on the grounds where the old PH as we know it is.. They are trying to re-model PH and Fleming and get them all under the least number of roofs possible. In other words, they are trying not to have a college feel at the schools. PH has already torn down several buildings and have rebuilt them. This is the 2nd year for the stadium. They got the stadium and we got our turf. The only bad thing I have heard is that parking is now very slim there on game nights...
There is also a remodel going on at CS. The front lobby is closed and they are building an attendance/security office in the front lobby. I have also been told of plans to some how build a permanet snack bar that will be used for events in the gym..
Looking foward to seeing you all!!!!!

Hi everybody. Can't wait to see everyone and looking forward to Friday night as well. Hopefully Billy and I will not need boats to get out of our respective states. Looks like Ike is headed more to the Texas coast but then the sharp turn it's supposed to take to the right will have it targeting Shreveport by next weekend. Guess we'll have to wait and see what Mother Nature has in store for us. The shelters here still are housing some Gustav evacuees. Many in New Orleans and Baton Rouge still without electricity. Keep us in your prayers and see you guys SOON!!!

Laura Lemon, I LOVE YA!
Laurie Bugner, I LOVE YA!
Jeanne Worrell, I LOVE YA!

EVERYBODY ELSE, I LOVE YA!

David Love, Jimmy Helm had told me awhile back that you were sick. You are plenty tough to beat this stuff's butt! Tough times don't last, tough people do!!!
We be prayin for ya everyday!!!

These hurricanes are the worst, looks like some smart people from the class of '78 could figure-out how to turn them around and send them to whack some tin-horn dictator or something.

Laurie, stay safe and away from the coast till next week.
Everybody else, go to work and pay some taxes!!!

To all who have put me in your prayers, Thanks so much! I just wanted to let all know why I couldn't attend and to be up front and honest. It,s not something anybody should hide or be ashamed of, although I'm sure some things in my past may have contributed. Good news from doctors this week, chemo is finished and rad will be after 4 more treatments, then follow ups and some more tests for several months, looks good so far. Looks like I dodged a bullet with Ike but my prayers are with those that are now in the path. Billy, where is your profile? Get all those Pic's you can and does anybody have or know where I can get a 78 yearbook?
Again, thanks for your thoughts and prayers! Have a great time and let me hear from you!
Dave

Linda--I bet PH has a great new stadium. Not sure if I will get by or not. I do hope to get by CSHS...I have so many places I want to visit!!

Laurie and others--take care with Ike coming through...I will be praying for you all. I have friends who are also heading out of the vacinity to safer grounds.

David--Please know that we all will miss you at the reunion. I will forever remember walks to Castle Rock pool to play tennis with you, Kris Whitenack, Paul Mustian and Pat Equi. Don't think I ever won...haha. Good news to hear that your treatments will end soon and that you are feeling better. I will be sending prayers your way!

Hi everyone,

I am trying to work it out to come to the reunion. September has been a crazy month so far. I have to be in Philadelphia all week so can't decide if I will have the energy to come. Betsy, I will decide this weekend and get my payment in. I won't make it for the Friday fun and no longer swing a club so it will just be for the Satuarday evening event.

I did talk to Susie Dickerson Walrond. She wanted very much to come. Life keeps us all so busy. She recently moved from No. VA to Chesapeake and had to travel earlier in the week for an event making it impossible to come. If I do not come it will be my loss. I have enjoyed this site. If not this year...maybe the 40th.

Anita

I have not been back to Roanoke for Years. So I have no idea about getting around. Where is 419 West and what time is everyone planning meeting there? I know where the HHCC is, since I used to live very close by there in high school. At first I didn't I could make it to our reunion, but now and looking forwards to it. Wondering how it will all go and THANKS Betsy, for doing such a great job with this site and planning.

Paul - don't worry about getting around. If you are staying at the Tanglewood Holiday Inn, we will try and get a shuttle to 419 - its really close. Actually in the old Shoneys building on 419. Easy to find! My understanding is that there is no cover charge for 419 but Doug - tell me if I missed something!

Just to drop everyone a line that is going to the reunion to say that I also will not be able to make this one as I recently had major surgery to remove a large tumor on the back of my neck,no cancer thankfully but a long healing process. Everyone have a good time.Hunting Hills Country club is very nice.
Hopefully the next time there is one I will be able to attend.

Karen,

Thanks for the info. Doesn't suprise me, she was a smart lady. She's probably looking at a nice Air Force pension in a few years and flying some really nice jets. Commercial airliners are spiffier than our military jets. But we love those ugly things anyway.

I'm not going to make it to the party unles a minor miracle occurs. Y'all have fun!

Hello 78ers!

Thank you goes out to everyone checkin on me because of these storms. I am fine, the beaches around here look like crap!

I will be flying out of New Orleans around 9am Friday morning. Onto Roanoke by way of Chicago, go figure, Firm makes my travel plans, they look for the cheapest way from point A to point B, and getting to dear 'ol Roanoke is probably off the beaten path!

Should be in the Noke around 9 to 10pm Friday night. Then onto 419 to see if any other folks at our age stay-up past dark! I will be tired, but hey, I will hang.

Look forward to seeing everyone, then again on Saturday at the BIG FEST at HH Country Club. Y'all travel safe, I love ya, and thank God we are all around to reunite!!!

Peace, Love, and somebody can buy me a drink!!!!!!

Now Billy,

Coming home, calibrate your GPS to exactly 3904 Franklin Rd. @ Frontage Rd., Roanoke. Dial 1-540-527-4040 if you get off course. This delivers you directly to Republican HQs. But note, due to extremely high demand HQs is all out of McCain-Palin yard signs, but bumper stickers are in stock! Call ahead if you still want that Sara Palin life-size & wearables you've been asking me about lately - I'll save some for you, Bro!

AND JUST FOR THIS WEEKEND I HAD I-581 RE-PAVED FOR EVERYONE, SO WE'RE ROLLING OUT THE RED CARPET FOR ALL OF YOU BUT HOWEVER YOU ARRIVE, BE SAFE EVERYONE! KNIGHTS ARE FOREVER... AND THE FOLKS OF CSHS' CLASS OF '78 ARE THE GREATEST!!!!!
