The length of a student's hair certainly should be a priority. Good thing the concern is on something relative and not something trivial like whether or not the child is learning!

I haven't been in here in a while. It's so strange for me that the more of these posts I read the more of a connection I start to feel. Maybe my disconnected feeling in the beginning is more than the fact that I isolated myself during high school. Maybe its the fact that I moved away in 1979. When I come back I never actually spend any time in the cave spring area. I'm always in Fincastle. Reading what other people write and looking at your pictures is really a lot of fun. The reunion looks like it was wonderful. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Just a quick update on the Boys basketball team.
We opened last week with three games, all on the road.
Monday night at Botetourt we won 63-57.
Wednesday night we won again at Wm Byrd 53-42.
Friday night at Radford we lost in overtime 77-71.
We were down 15 points at halftime, but made an awesome comeback, getting a dunk at the buzzer in regulation to force overtime.
Clay Lacy's son, Clay Jr scored 20 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.
We have two games this week, both at home.
Tonight (Dec 9th) vs Glenvar, and Friday night Dec 12th for a rematch with Wm Byrd.
Hope to see some familiar faces in the stands!

BBall team is doing good sounds like, thanks for the update Bobby. Way to go Clay Jr., chip off that block huh?
Hope everyone is having a great Holiday season so far!
Guess by now you saw the picture in my profile of Greg Caldwell & I here in Roanoke a couple of weeks ago. He didn't make the 'onion so that really was the first time I'd seen him in 30 years! What a blast!

Over Thanksgiving break Jeff Reynolds, Dougie Dorman, Linda Farris and I got together at the Brambleton Deli and then 419W for a few drinks and alot of good conversation.
Sorry no pictures this time, Reynolds threatened my life if I took any (must be a blonde thing!). Next time I'll be sneakier!

Wanted to thank those guys for hooking up, it's been way too long. I'll say again how time and years melt away when we see each other.

We have alot of Birthdays this month too! You guys get robbed on presents this close to Christmas huh?

Happy BD today Wiggie!

Happy Holidays to all!

Remember back Junior year... We got our class rings.. MAN.. we were such big shots... Well, now I get to be on the Mom side of it. My daughter got her ring this morning and by 8:45 I had a picture text showing me her ring. And following that was a text saying.. "Mom, thanks.. in case I did not say that earlier. I love you"

Well... I guess that that message was worth $353!!
What do you think????????

I better be getting the same message from my son in a week or so when his colleg ring comes in.. That one better be a darn good message.. Worth the $619 that that ring costs.... WOW.. crazy prices!!!!!!

Happy Holidays to all of you.. Safe travels.....

Hey! Hope everyone is ready for the holidays. If you are and want to see some good football. The Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl is scheduled for this Saturday. Kick-off is 11:00 and it will be broadcast on ESPN2. The game is played at Salem Stadium and gives the Roanoke Valley great exposure. So If you are local and have some free time come on out to see the game in person or if you are out of town just tune in and watch. It is really cool to have such a great event so close to home. And for those that are not familar with this game it is the Division III Collegiate National Championship. The teams are Mount Union and Wisconson Whitewater. That is all for my comercial for Salem.

Hope everyone has a great holiday.

All...Please remember the reason for this holiday---a celebration of Jesus Christ, our Lord!!!!! He was, is and always will be the greatest gift ever given!!!!

Also, remember our military members that are serving abroad. I remember the depression, pain and loneliness of being away from loved ones during this time of year. They have my prayers for a safe and peacefull holiday season. And I hope they can have comfort and peace in thier hearts knowing that they are loved by God, family, freinds and all their veteran brothers and sisters.

I wish all of you and your families a very, very marry Christmas and a happy and SAFE New Year,
Steve & Tracey Thompson

MERRY CHRISTMAS!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Hello to everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday Season, enjoy your family and friends.
All my kids are home from college, telling stories of all kinds of things that I shouldn`t be hearing...LOL
Time together is short but we will make the best of what time we have. My youngest son James who is at Lynchburg College-Freshman was picked as the Hornet of the week due to his outstanding scores at his first college Indoor Track Meet. Allen and Thomas are doing well and have been playing video games none stop for the past week, some things never change! Sara and her husband Wesley are here from S.C., Wesley is in the Navy, and doing very well. Samantha is just glad to have all of them home. For the first time in a long time I went to sleep last night listening to all of them laugh and talk....funny the little things you miss.
Happy Holiday`s to all of you, may you be blessed with the joy of the season.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

I hope you all have a blessed season full of the magic that gives Christmas its meaning.
Treasure this time with your families and have safe travels.

This year I feel more complete since having gotten to see and reconnect with so many of you and the memories you have given back to me.
I hope more of us can get together next year.

Yes, Wish you all a good 2009 - Who would think back in '76 or '78 that we be where we are today? There were many times when I looked back and said.. If someone told me I be here back in High School - Your Nuts... Well Now I just think where could I be Next? and How will I get there? To where ever we end up going in 2009 I know getting there may be tough and hard but where you get there and look back save the good time and learn from the ruff spots - Share both with your friends - I will and let's plan a cook out or something this summer - OK! !

It was great seeing everyone at Brambleton Deli. I can't believe it has been 30 years. Time really does fly! I hope 2009 is a great year for everybody.

Boys basketball team is doing well.
Avenged an early season 20 point loss to Northside,
by beating them 75-44 last Friday night, Jan 2nd.
Currently 8-3, and our district schedule starts tomorrow night (Jan 6th) at home vs. Pulaski.

Summer cookout sound great. Count me in.
It is a small world. LeGGZ is playing for the Shrine Winter Cermonial in New Bern, NC. My Mother saw the article about the band that was playing. To think Doug and group statted at my 16 th Bday party.

Your welcome Greg.
Team is still doing well.
11-3 overall, 3-0 in the River Ridge District,
with wins over Pulaski 69-63, Christiansburg 58-47,
and Blacksburg 59-37.
Currently ranked #6 in the state in AA class.
Big home game tonight (1-20-09) vs our south county rival Hidden Valley.
Hope to see some familiar faces in the stands.

We beat our south county rival Hidden Valley Tuesday night 65-42.
The first time in 1432 days (dating back to 2005)
that we have beaten them, and the first time in our gym.
Saw some familiar faces in the crowd...Linda Grubb, John Wilkes, Clay Lacy, and David Ford (class of '77).
The more we win, the larger the crowds get. It's getting back to the way it was when JJ Redick was there.
Hope everyone is well!

Bobby, That was a kick butt game... I hope any of you guys still in the area can make it out to see the young men play.. They Rock!! It was neat to see Rudy Lacy and Garland Berry there too... We are doing driver's ed road classes in my house this week... So funny to see Coach Berry as he was the one I had for "road".

A note on the picnic... I am getting alot of mail suggesting a Saturday afternoon, instead of Sunday. That works for me. I will get a date set on 2/2/09 and I will be in touch!!!

Come on out and see the guys play!!! Some good basketball!
