Linda,

You mentioned classrings. Mine was Duralite with a blue (supposed to be saphire)stone, Anyway, I'm pretty sure it disappeared during College. Probably when I worked at the Navy Shipyard. I was repairing radar units for the aircraft carriers and we had to take of any rings off because of the power. Shocking!!. My brother lost his a few days after graduation during a canoe battle at Smith Moutain Lake. What I'm saying is, for boys at least, economy is the way to go. I've never lost my wedding ring even though I've had to take it off many time for safety. Whenever I was working around tanks or howitzers I put it in my wallet (If a ring catches on something on the tank, you can lose the finger). It cost half what my class ring did, but I'm a little more motivated to keep track of it. 23 years and counting now! My class ring? Who knows?

What a game Bobby! Nip and tuck. Especially in OT, C.S. played better when it counted most, outscored H.V. 13-4. Key blocks & steals, n-i-c-e 3-pointers, and well coached all the way around - FANtastic Game! This is what friday night high school BB is all about! Tradition continues Bobby!

Another win last night for the Knights.. WE beat Salem in Basketball 55-47. Clay Lacy Jr. lead the Knights with 20 and made his Dad proud!!!

I am hoping that all of you will be getting a mail from me about the picnic.. Please read and give me some feedback.. We talked at the reunion and thought this would be fun... and cheaper!!!!

I just got a call from Neil at 419 West last night and he wants LEGGZ to play the club on Friday, the 20th of February. Any Class of '78 rockers that want to join in the fun, come on out! Congrats, Bobby Hicks on a great basketball season. Brings back a lot of memories seeing David Henderson's son playing with Clay, Jr. Back in our day, they were on opposite sides. Clay played varsity when we beat that great PH team they had in '76! I'll never forget losing the JV game before they played that night. The gym was totally electric and Dan Finnegan hit two clutch free throws to give us the lead (by 1) with 7 seconds left...We were all celebrating wildly and PH's Gino McCadden drove in from half court to lay it in as time expired to give them the win...I got there as he was going up to shoot and thought that I drew a charge, but old "Uncle" Mac McCadden was the referee on the spot...Not gonna get that call...Hope to see you all at 419 on the 20th!

Linda,
I rec'd the info about the picnic at Garst Mill park on June 27th. It sounds good to me.
You asked for suggestions.....
So, I would suggest everyone just bring their own food and drink, and if someone wants to grill....well the grills are there.
I assume this is a "family" orientented gathering?
If so, no alcoholic beverages?
Hey, I had to ask, because I know others are wondering the same thing.

Doug, Damn...you have one Hell of a memory.
We'll try to make it Friday, but we have a big party Saturday night (The Masqurade Ball), and I am way too old to party hard two nights in a row.

Hey Bob... I was thinking that if everyon bought some food and maybe a couple 2 liters, then we would be ok. I will go and get plates, silverware, napkins and cups. This will be family and the "NO drinking" is a county policy with the rental of the site. Maybe we can decide on a time to eat and there are some grills there. Maybe i can talk some of you big stong men into cooking!!!
I have not heard from alot of people yet, so I will send out another mail, probally in April...

Good Luck tomorrow night!!! Kick some butt~!!!

We did qualify for the Regional Tournament.
We play at Home (CSHS) this Tuesday night, Feb 24th vs. Richlands, from Tazewell VA.
If we win, we will be home again Weds night vs. Martinsville.
I'll post the results here.

Doug, came to see you play Fri night at 419, but you guys were way late getting started. We had to leave, because we went to the Hookers Masquerade Ball Sat night (last night), and I am way too old to party late two nights in a row....

Thanks Linda for the info on the picnic. Keep us posted.
And thanks for the support at the basketball games.

Way to go Bobby, great season!

Sorry I didn't make the gig Settles, I missed the posts til too late but I'll keep a better eye on it for the next one and try to make it! I think Parker and Linda Farris were there.

I had and still have the duralite ring with a blue stone. Burbo, if you're missing yours I could probably let you have mine for a small fee;). 'Course it looks to be about a size 3, barely get it on my pinkie now!

Linda, count me in, I can drag some kind of Eagle Rock road kill across the grill to share I'm sure.
No promises about the alcohol tho, you never know what might be concealed in my cup?!?!? I'll try to behave or will at least be descrete, I'm so good at both huh?

Awesome Jeanne... your boys kicked butt!!! The young ladies on this team are now a part of CS history.. They won 3rd place in states and for the first time in the history of the school.. They came home with a trophy!! They were soooo happy.. Amanda ran her 500 in 1:30.. which was good.. But in the back turn, a girl tried to pass her and came into her lane. She spiked Amanda in the foot and then elbowed her. NO official to see it.. So no call!! She got mad and slowed down, until she heard my big mouth yelling...
Congrats to Bob and Billy Hicks and the Boys Basketball team. On Friday night, they won the regional chanpionship!! I did not make it, but i heard they played a good game, without any help from the refs, who I heard were blind!!!!!!!!!!

We got snow tonight for all of you out of town.. Only about 2 inches, then the rain started!!
Have a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!

How did everyone like the snow we got Sunday, and Sunday night?
We got about 6 or 7 inches here. Actually it was nice, and we needed it. Supposed to be 70 this weekend....go figure?

The boys basketball team takes a 22-6 record into the State Quarterfinals this Friday night, at 8:45 vs Brookville, at the Salem Civic Center.
Hope to get lots of local support!

AA State Championship game in Richmond, Sat., March 14th,
1:00 pm at the Altel Pavilion, Seigel Center, vs. Brunswick HS.

Brunswick was the team that beat us in the 2003 state championship game, so this will be an exciting rematch, several years later.

Hope some Cave Spring alum. who reside in the Richmond area see this, and can make the game.

Thanks everyone for the support.
