okay, kristen--i've got your lyrics:

I...i...i...i...
Erotic city
Erotic city

All of my purple life
I've been looking for a dame
That would wanna be my wife
That was my intention, babe

If we cannot make babies, maybe we can make some time
Thoughts of pretty u and me, erotic city come alive
We can funk until the dawn, making love til cherrys gone
Erotic city cant u see, thoughts of pretty u and me

Everytime I comb my hair
Thoughts of u get in my eyes
Ure a sinner, I don't care
I just want your creamy thighs

If we cannot make babies, maybe we can make some time
Thoughts of pretty u and me, erotic city come alive
We can funk until the dawn, making love til cherrys gone
Erotic city cant u see, thoughts of pretty u and me

All of my hang-ups r gone
How I wish u felt the same
We can funk until the dawn (til the dawn) (until the dawn)
How I wish u were my dame (baby wont u call my name)

If we cannot make babies, maybe we can make some time
Thoughts of pretty u and me, erotic city come alive
We can funk until the dawn, making love til cherrys gone
Erotic city cant u see, thoughts of pretty u and me

Baby, ure so creamy

If we cannot make babies, maybe we can make some time
Thoughts of pretty u and me, erotic city come alive
We can funk until the dawn, making love til cherrys gone (til the dawn)
Erotic city cant u see, thoughts of pretty u and me

If we cannot make babies, maybe we can make some time (u and me)
Some time, some time, some time, erotic city
If we cannot make babies, maybe we can make some time
Thoughts of pretty u and me, erotic city come alive

We can funk until the dawn, making love til cherrys gone (come alive)
Erotic city cant u see, thoughts of pretty u and me
We can funk until the dawn, making love til cherrys gone
Erotic city

I'm going to take a cold shower and I'll be back.

Okay, confession, I have Prince on my ipod.. 1999, Little Red Corvette, and yes, it is Trojans some of them used...yuck, why is it you never think what you are singing until you actually read the words on paper??? It's like Greg's posting about the Low song...until I actually listened to it then I was like what??? My 12 year old is singing what???

Kelly - I too had a brief stay in Florida, south of Miami...all the kids aspire to be strippers like their mamas...why do you think all the mom's were so proud? I feel so good that my child was a lamb in a nursery rhyme now :)

Carla - I too registered for article of clothing on the Homecoming survey, for an XL, I assume you know who wanted what based on that, or did you need names to claim the sizes posted?

Angelo - Can't say I've done the box of wine....My Brother in law owns and operates a beverage store, so last year I was wanting to "relive" my younger years when I came across cases of Seagrams Wine Coolers, of course everything is purchased in CASES...and I bought 2...do you know how many wine coolers it takes to get a buzz? Apparently ALOT...

Angelo - speaking of celebrating Victories....are you planning on coming up from HotLanta for the Homecoming Game? I'll bring an extra Eagles jersey for you to wear...what are you like an XL?

Kristen- I'm happy you got some stress relief tonight with the forum. And I'm so glad your little one will be okay and that the roof of his mouth is still intact! I remember when Andy was about 4 and he came screaming into the room holding up his hand, which revealed about 8 staples stuck into the meaty part of his thumb. He had been digging around in the office trash can and somehow punctured his thumb with these unused staples and they were all pushed into his thumb all the way flush. I nearly fainted as I pulled them out one by one (while pretending to be calm and matter-of-fact, of course). Yuk.

Oh man. That brings me to another memory of injured child horrors. During high school, I lived next door to your grandmother, Francis. There was a couple across the street from her that had a Chow. The dog was always chained up in the backyard, but one day it broke loose and grabbed my little sister by the leg and dragged her violently down the street right in front of my eyes. She was 7 years old at the time and it was horrifying, to say the least. She was screaming bloody murder while this dog whipped her around like a ragdoll all the way down Thornrose Rd. I grabbed a broom and ran like hell down the street and caught up with them and beat the dog off of her and carried Sarah home (by this time she was nearly unconscious).

We didn't yet have 911, so I called the police and explained what happened while I waited for my mother to come home from work. The police told me to call animal control to report the attack so that they could verify rabies records and write a report and whatnot. I cleaned Sarah's wounds and shortly thereafter, animal control came over to take a report and catch the dog.

Well, the next day there was a knock on the door and it was the owner of the dog. She said, "Are you Kelly?" I didn't know who she was or what she wanted, but I responded, "Yes. Can I help you?" She got this big angry scowl on her face and yelled, "I just want you to know that I killed my dog today thanks to you and your sister!" And with that, she stormed off across the street to her house. I was crushed. She put the dog down because of the incident, even though the dog didn't have rabies. She just did it anyway. I cried for a week, at least. I didn't want the dog dead...I had done what I was told to do by the police, ya know?

Sarah and I have been somewhat terrified of "stranger dogs" ever since then. She actually had been bitten in the neck by a relative's dog when she was 3, so dogs kind of make her nervous to this day (and she's 29 now).

On a lighter note....I agreed to getting a dog for the family last year and so we now have a red standard poodle named, "Bella." I've tried like heck to give her away on this forum, but so far there are no takers. Ha ha! Last month, Sarah came in for a wedding and stayed with me and was alone in the house with Bella for a couple of hours when she decided she would let Bella out of her crate to go for a pee. Bella would not come out of her crate. Sarah begged. Bella would not make an exit. Sarah decided it was Karma or something and left her in the crate and got ready to be the bridesmaid. An hour later...Bella sat there...with the crate door open...looking Sarah dead in the eyes...perfectly still, but wagging the tail a little bit. She refused to leave the crate. Sarah had thought she met her match. Is this possibly a dog as scared of a human as she is of a dog? Hmm. She was quite puzzled by this dog behavior.

So Sarah did her bridesmaid duty and came back to the house for chit chat and caviar and we discussed the weird poodle incident. I led her to Bella's crate and asked her to demonstrate her technique. She greeted Bella with a little song and then opened the door and said, "Come on, Bella...let's go outside." Bella looked at her and then switched her gaze to me as if to say, "What the hell is wrong with this bitch? She's not saying the magic word!" So I told Sarah that the only command that our stupid dog will obey is "FREE" when you open the crate and THAT one and only word gives her permission to exit and head toward the door to do her business!

Poor Sarah! She's definitely a kitty cat girl for sure! At least Bella didn't bark at her or bite her or something....although she did hump her leg a little bit. Yikes.

So, Kristen. Tell me about your grandma and what's ever become of Brittney Hackworth?

Kristen~Watch out, Kelly likes boys....

Kelly~ Glad you're back...as for the homecoming thing...in Salem, Northside and most all of the schools around here...girls go with girls now. I was worried Kenzie had gone a little wacko on me when she told me she was going to homecoming and I said..with who...and she said Sam...and I said...Sam who...and she said...SAM, my friend SAM...Sam is a girl...but this is just the thing that is done now...how odd will THOSE pictures be?!?!

Maybe Prince started my whole motorcycle thing...I mean, I can only imagine how LOW that motorcycle was that he drove Vanity hoochie up to Lake Minnetonka on. It made him look sooooo good. But I think it may have been the frilly shirt and his chest hair. And the things he could do with a guitar...wow...

Gotta go get an ice pack and sit on it...Kelly told me about that trick...

Kelly, don't be a dork...get a hoodie.

Angelo~ I do hope, like Vicky does, that you are coming up for Homecoming. Would love to see you...

And if no one knows what the Soulja Boy song is really about....um, well, it's pretty provocative...google it...you won't want your young daughters having any sort of Superman done on them...

And what the heck is a "G5" that everyone talks about in their songs?!?!

Vicky Lakes (Fuller)

Kelly - I remmeber that chow...and I'm glad she put it down. I mean think about it, your sister was 7, can you imagine what the dog could have done to a smaller child..yikes... As an avid dog lover I couldn't imagine having to put our dog down, but if it went after a child and did that, I would in a heart beat. I'd cry for weeks, but I'd rather have that than a severly injured child on my hands.

That's too funny about "FREE"...I got a laugh out of that one. Our black lab is 115 pounds and is almost 5 years old..pretty much a door mat...he carries a stuffed beaver around like a baby...even sleeps with it. All you have to say is 'Where's the Beaver?" and he goes and finds it and brings that nasty dog slobbered thing to you. Ick. It's the only stuffed animal he never destroyed. My mom just got a black lab puppy and he carries a blanket around with him..I told her she should have named him Linus.

Ah yes Superman...listened to that one too...woo hoo, where's the adult content sticker?

Homecoming...for 3 years Jess went with a group of girls...apparently this is the norm these days. Had a blast, met and danced with guys, but didn't have the strings attached. For prom a group of 25 of them rented a party bus to drive them to Lancaster for their prom. Most of the group were girls, and the 10 guys that went were just friends...Jess and her boyfriend broke up before prom, but she decided to go anyway...kudos to her...and she had the time of her life. Homecoming for her is Oct. 10th...not sure if there will be a hot escort or not..

Jolee...I assume Vicky's was already on the list you gave me...was Kelly's on that, or do I need to add her?
Maybe it would be a good idea for you to call me just before you go to bed and go over this list again.992-5588.

09/24/08 08:52 PM #401

Jolee Clarke (Preston)

Yes, Kelly and Vicky are both on the list...if they filled out the survey...then they are on the list...

09/24/08 09:04 PM #402

Vicky Lakes (Fuller)

Yep, I did the survey. Thanks.
Do we have a cost yet? Send check to?

09/24/08 09:13 PM #403

Carla Boyd (McCabe)

Hoodies will be around $20... t- shirts are about $9.
Will have firmer price soon. Our intention is to hand out and get people's $$ at the game. I can ship to anyone who is not coming.

09/24/08 09:40 PM #404

Carla Boyd (McCabe)

Jolee...I guess the list is all good then! Will be putting in the order at 11pm.
Kelly...that is an awful story! I can't believe that heartless woman said that stuff to you! I know someone who put their own chow down after it took a hunk out of their daughter's face. They said they couldn't stand the thought of it getting someone else like that. About 15 years later you can still see the scar on her face. Geezzz...no wonder you have such a strong will about you!
Thanks guys...I have also been humming Prince music!

I have not heard anything about the Pictures from the reunion...are we going to be able to purchase a DVD of those pictures?

Susan Jones (Badger)

I should be on the list too girls...thanks

Greg- Damn it, thanks for putting that song in my head. I think I will go get the CD tomorrow. Oh my, when I was in high school I would make fun of my mother for blasting the radio to songs from her past. I thought she was way too old to be doing that. Now here I am doing the same.
I will be sure to bring my jambox to the tailgate and we can jam to 'Purple Rain'. I usually like to hold my jambox on one shoulder and walk around with it but I won't do that at the tailgate, that way everyone can hear it. LOL!!!

Jolee- I ordered a Hoodie and I still need to pay you or someone for it. Where do I send the $$? Oh and by the way, do you ever check your e-mail?

Does anyone know where Greg Mistele is?

The new pic.s are great. I can not believe how short the guys' shorts were back in the day. If they wore those today, I think they would be arrested.

You all have a great Thursday!

Trina Schossow (Folden)

Good Morning all...I'd like to change the music tone for the day. I was shopping last night (still away on business, so no kids), and actually heard "If It Isn't Love" - New Edition...I'm pretty sure. Took me back to late in high school to the days of Bobby Brown and "My Perogative". Used to love that stuff, and will admit, not too long ago had the hubby download a bunch of it for me to make a CD for my car...

Have a good day.

CD's: Dean and Steve are working on those. They should be ready for the game and will be $10.00 each.

Greg Mistele ~ I have been emailing him and begging him to log on the site. He travels a lot, was in Bejing last week. I can give you an email if you would like. He's still as sweet as ever.

We will collect money for hoodies, CD's, my car payment, whatever, at the game...so hang on to all money until then. If you sent me a check for Mike's flowers...I am getting ready to deposit those and any leftover money I am going to get in touch with Laura WC and see how much the actual scrap books are for the kids...then if there is any more money left over...it will go to Old Dominion Vet Clinic.

Stef ~ Are you speaking of the message you sent me through this site? If so, yes, I read it a couple of times and was truly so moved I didn't know what to say. You and Marion are great people and we all need happy messages. So your message truly, truly meant a great deal to me. Just wanted you to know that!

OK while we are on the subject of all of these songs, am I the only one disturbed by the Kidz Bop collection? I mean the little kids are cute and all and they sing pretty well, but the lyrics they have them singing are crazy.

Angelo - The wine cube from Target is pretty good. Also if anyone has a chance to get to a Trader Joe's (closest one to Roanoke is in Raleigh I think) the Two Buck Chuck is pretty decent.

Steph - Sorry about the song, of course now thanks to Laura I have Little Red Corvette stuck in my head.

Also by request...

I was workin'part-time in a 5-and-dime
My boss was Mr. McGee
He told me several times that he didn't like my kind
Cuz I was a bit 2 leisurely
It seems that I was busy doin'somethin'close 2 nothin?
But different than the day before
That's when I saw her, ooh, I saw her
She walked in through the out door, out door

She wore a raspberry beret
The kind U'd find in a second hand store
Raspberry beret
And if it was warm, she wouldn't wear much more
Raspberry beret
I think I love her

Built like she was, huh, she had the nerve 2 ask me
If I planned 2 do her any harm, hmph
So looka here, I put her on the back of my bike and ah...
We went ridin'down by Old Man Johnson's farm
I said now overcast days never turned me on
But somethin' 'bout the clouds and her mixed
She wasn't 2 bright, but I could tell when she kissed me
She knew how 2 get her kicks

The rain sounds so cool when it hits the barn roof
And the horses wonder who U are
The thunder drowns out what the lightning sees, huh
And U feel like a movie star
Listen, they say the first time ain't the greatest
But I tell ya, if I had the chance 2 do it all again
I wouldn't change a stroke cuz baby I'm the most
With a girl as fine as she was then

She wore a raspberry beret
The kind U find, the kind U find, oh no no!
Uh huh, uh huh
Where have all the raspberry women gone?
Yeah
I think I, I think I, I think I love her!

Kristen Witt (Bray)

Vicky -- thanks so much for the offer to watch the kids. And trust me, if it would have been much worse, I would have called you. Which reminds me, I need to put your number in my cell phone. :)

Marion--- thanks so much for the lyrics. I can't believe that I didn't realize how dirty that song was!!!

Kelly -- I didn't remember that happening, but it doesn't surprise me. There were some neighbors across the street from her that I didn't care much for. They always gave us dirty looks when the entire family showed up for special occasions. Maybe because we had such a big family and too many of us parking cars along the street. Who knows!!! That's horrible about the incident with your sister. I couldn't imagine!!!! My grandmother is now living at Richfield. She will turn 90 years old in November! She is still in great shape -- mind and body!

To the rest of the gang --- I sang songs and I had NO clue as to what I was singing. I remember that I wouldn't say the word "hell" in the Eagles song because I thought that I would get in trouble. But, then I would have no problem singing the lyrics to "Relax, Don't do it". (Uh-oh, I bet ya'll won't get that song out of your head now!) I wonder now what my parents were thinking when I was singing those songs.

09/25/08 11:28 AM #412

Vicky Lakes (Fuller)

Okay, well if you couldn't sing "hell" how about George Michaels I want your sex?? That's one you turned way down when the parents walked in the room.

09/25/08 11:58 AM #413

Laura Wolfe (Campbell)

Prince and George M are nice, but I'm waiting for the forum to revert back to Duran Duran mode............

09/25/08 12:11 PM #414

Kelly Houston

I must be the only girl that only liked Duran Duran for a total of 10 minutes. Am I weird?

09/25/08 12:30 PM #415

Kristen Witt (Bray)

I liked Duran Duran but my mom hated it...why? Well, in the song, "Hungry Like A Wolf", towards the end was a girl/woman who sounded like she was calling for help. My mom always thought that it was me yelling for her, so she would run to my room to see what was the matter. Then I would look at her strangely, and she would just give me the look to turn down the music. Enough said about that song. Here is an oldie, but a goodie....How about Disco Duck? He is one sexy, mother feather!!!!! (See, I don't use that language anymore!)

Maybe we should start compiling a list of all of these songs, so for the next reunion, we can hand the DJ the list that has been created over the years, and tell him to play NOTHING but the songs that are listed. Keep it completely 80's or 70's. Don't get me wrong, the songs today are okay, but it is nice to relive the "old" songs!!!!
