Does anyone know the funeral arrangements for Tim's dad? I haven't read the obit. so I'm not sure when and if there is a viewing or exactley what the plan is. Anyhow, I would like to be there for Tim so if anyone would like to go with me, just let me know.

Steve J.-You are welcome. Is that really you on here or is that sweet darlin wife posing for you again. I'm glad Tara decided we were more fun than her class and came here Sat. night.

Jolee-Just bc I'm off work doesn't mean I am not volunteering or something. Gah! I do keep a very busy schedule you know. Getting ready to head out to train for Sat.s triathalon now. Just finished stretching!

Kristen Witt (Bray)

Lunch sounds great, guys, but unfortunately, I don't think that I could get there in time. :) Just kidding!!!

Trina --- I am so sorry that you have been so sick. I am glad that you are feeling much better now. Can you give us an update on how Diane, Perry, Missy and Michelle W. are doing?

I hope that everyone has a SAFE and Happy New Year. I have been majorly sleep deprived, so I think that we will stay in for New Years. I don't even know if I will be able to stay up until 10pm. So, Jolee, at least for a little while, the "granny" award can go to me. I will give your arms a rest from carrying it. But, once this little one starts sleeping better, WATCH OUT, because I am ready to hang!!!!!

Jolee Clarke (Preston)

Hi everybody~

Lunch was fun, as always...it was good to see Ken(ny!), Greg, Kelly, Stef, and Faye...always great conversation...and Lugar's ever-so-popular "picture time." Good grief...

JSL~ I know what you mean...thank God I had you for a brother...mine was not the nicest. I love being around you and Leslie as well...tell her she definitely is wanted and welcome to come to Raleigh with us...we aren't as crazy as all of these forums make us out...there's a reason why Lugar calls me "Grandma."

Thanks for letting us know about Joe's dad as well Carla. I hate to think that our parents are not going to be with us forever, but I guess it is such a reality. I am thankful that we have each other to lean on...love you all!

I hope the next year brings us all happiness, continued friendship, forgivness, humility, fun times, good health, prosperity, patience, and the continued knowledge that we are one of a kind...we are Vikings.

Vicky Lakes (Fuller)

Hope everyone rung in the New Year safe and sound.

I am not normally one to post something like this, but with as many classmates in the medical field, and the closeness of our class I feel like it's the very least I can do for our neice. Today Kelsey, John's 11 year old niece was diagnosed with Batten's Disease. From what we were told it is always fatal and by the age of 20 at the latest. Life ends bedridden, blind, unable to communicate and with dementia. Needless to say this was a huge blow to the family. Greg and Kim have two other children, a son that is 13 and another daughter who is 7. If anyone knows of someone who has had a loved one diagnosed with this or someone that knows anything about the disease and what the parents can expect, information would be greatly appreciated. One can always read up on these things on the internet, but having someone with first hand knowledge far exceeds what you can read or interpret. Prayers are of course always needed, and please add her and her family to any prayer list. (Greg and Kim Fuller, daughter Kelsey).

Thanks everyone.

Jolee Clarke (Preston)

Vicky~

I don't know anything about Batten's disease...sorry. But my office mate is a pediatric nurse practitioner...so I will email her and ask her what can be expected beyond what is posted on the internet. Many times I tell newly diagnosed cancer patients NOT to delve too deeply into information on the internet...it can be too overwhelming. Try to find a local or regional support group...even national if you have to...that way, they can come in direct contact with any other families who are/have gone through this disease.

I am sorry for your family. I still have chills. Keep us updated on her.

Hello All! Happy New Year to everyone!

Amy W. ~ I still have that North Roanoke Lakers shirt... You just let me know!

Carla ~ As I mentioned before I'd be happy to pay you for all of the sweatshirts. Just let me know how much $ you still have out there and I'll send you a check for the balance. I hate that you got stuck with them when you were trying to hook us up! Who's your cousin?

Loving ~ Let's get together. If you and your family can find your way out to the country I'll cook you guys a meal or something! You still got that calendar that smelled like strawberry?

Kristen ~ I was going through an old box of "shtuff" and found a card "To my loving husband". I was so in shock that my wife would have sent me a card that I opened it and it was from "my loving wife" Kristen. Too funny.

Hi all~

A new survey is posted for those FEMALES who can go to Raleigh next weekend. If there are to be gentlemen escorts, they will have to set it up with Stefanie Lugar, as she knows the escort business, I am not familiar with how it works.

Am I the only one who cannot remember whether today is Thursday or Friday?!?!

Hope everyone had a great New Year. Sending you all a big hug from Franklin County!

Todd S.~ Guess who just found me on facebook...Randy Hogan...it was a shock. We havent spoken since we got into a heated argument in NHS lobby about Jason England.

Tim Wickline

I just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and thoughts for me and my family during the last few days. The death of my father was very unexpected and I guess I am still in a degree of shock. Just does not seem real. As I am typing this I am sitting at my parent's kitchen table and look over at my Dad's chair and realize he will not be sitting in it anymore. Or when I go out the side door, I will not hear him say to make sure the screen door is latched. It is funny the things we remember.

During this whole experience we were really worried about how my 6yr old nephew was going to handle the news about his grandpa's passing. My brother waited a couple days to tell him. When Cary finally decided it was time to tell Cole before the day of the wake, evidently the night before a miracle took place. Cary sat Cole down and told him he needed to tell him about his grandpa. Cole sat their and looked at him and said, "I already know." Cary asked him, "What do you know?" Cole answered and said, "Jesus told me last night in a dream that grandpa has gone to live with him in heaven." Talk about something to make the hair on the back of your neck to stand up. I truly believe in what Cole said. I don't think he is old enough to have made that up. And no one had said anything before hand to him as to what had transpired. I am very thankful to God and for his blessings.

I wanted also to pass on my condolences to Joe Hatcher. His father's funeral was yesterday. I got to speak to him last night at my Dad's wake. I wasn't aware he had passed with everything else that has been going on this week. Joe, your family is in my prayers as well.

I wish each of you the best for this coming year. May it be prosperous and a blessing. Plese remember to keep your loved ones close and don't sweat the small stuff. In the end, it just really doesn't matter.

God bless each of you is my prayer.

Tim
