Kristen Witt (Bray)
Vicky --- I am so sorry about your niece. I can tell you from personal experience, that the websites or local organizations that are headed by parents with children who have or had this disease is the best route to go. Don't get me wrong, doctors are great with information, but parents can give that personal touch, which is often so needed by parents with children who are inflicted with the disease. I will see what I can find out as well. Please know that there are so many people who will be praying for this little girl.
Tim, Joe, and Troy: My heart just breaks for the pain that you are going through (or have gone through). There are so many of us who have already been through the death of a parent, and there is no comparison between which is better or which one is worse. Losing a parent is very difficult. Just know that each of you are in our prayers and will continue to be in our prayers for the weeks, months, and years to come. This forum is a great way of communcating with each other, but if you need to talk to any of us on the side about what you are going through, then just email us individually. We would love to be able to help out any way that we can.
So, I guess to put it out there: I have been through the death of a child (complications from a diaphragmatic hernia) and also a parent who was inflicted with Alzheimers at a young age and died from the complications of this disease. I have a father who has (or still has) prostate and colon cancer. If anyone needs to talk or wants information pertaining to the above situations, then just call me. I would love to help in any way possible.
Now, back to the funnier side of life: Who has an interesting "story" from New Years Eve? As for one of the "grandmas" of the group, I just want to live through someone elses much "younger" body. It was very cold up here for New Years. Matter of fact, I haven't been out of the apartment since Tuesday night. But, I will leave the apartment for a while today. And, yes, I have had a shower, so the stink factor is not an issue!!!!
Todd -- You better save that card, because I bet you a million bucks that Steve would love to receive a card like that from me. Hee~hee. Well, I have to admit that you were a very good husband. And an even better father. I just hate it that things didn't work out. And for some reason, I can't find the pictures from our wedding. I can probably come up with the pictures from Suzanne Holdridge and J.L. Goin's wedding though. (I think that it was the two of them that got married around our wedding date). And since I am thinking about it, wasn't Amy WM in our class too? Amy, who were you married to?
