Faye- How in the world did you pull your pants up that far? I am still trying to grasp that. Girl, I know you aren't wearing elastic waste bands. We aren't there yet are we?

#1 - You are a nut. Did you take a breath while you were typing all of that? Thanks for the laugh this morning!

Jolee - Where's lunch tomorrow?

Stef - Should we dress formal for the photo's or is casual OK?

Faye - My wife and I are going to the inauguration in a couple of weeks and yesterday we got invited to one of the official Inauguration Balls. We are not going to the ball but I can get you the tickets if you want to go. You might even get to dance with the President! ;-)

Anybody object to Red Palace? Valley View? Let us know. In Todd's honor....

Kristen Witt (Bray)

Kelly HB --- I have to admit, I just don't have the guts to go to shorter hair. Matter of fact, when I get my hair trimmed, I can tell the BIGGEST difference and I think that I look horrible for at least 10 days. I just don't think that I could cut my hair since it is taking it so much longer to grow than it use to. But, I really do appreciate the comment. :) And PLEASE look Vicky and I up the next time that you are up here. (I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Your cousin sounded like an amazing person. My great grandfather was the 1st veternarian in the state of WV). There are still so many things that I haven't seen while I have been here, so come on up and we will go "explorin".

Vicky --- Did you get any snow? Girl, let me know when you get it and I will bundle the kids up and head your way. You mentioned cooking dinner....can you teach me? :) Don't get me wrong, I do know how to boil water. Sometimes I even burn water. (Okay, I am not that bad).

Todd --- Why didn't you ever shoot any commercials when we were together? Maybe it would have saved our marriage. (Greg and Stef --- get your mind out of the gutter!)

For all of you facebook people --- Maybe I just don't know enough about this website, but what is the big deal about it? It seems so much easier to just email people. Sure, I can understand looking people up that you haven't been in touch with for a while, but other than that, please tell me something about this program that I am just not getting!!!

Jolee --- Have you seen the Subway commercial where it features people that have "exploding" clothes because of the extra weight? I thought about the comments that you have made on the forum when I saw the commercial. :)

Kelly HB and Amy WM --- Okay, you would be proud of me...I didn't eat a single thing while watching the Biggest Loser last night. I honestly don't see how these people weigh as much as they do, and then they get on a treadmill and they are pushed as hard as they are. I need to lose about 20lbs and I feel like if I had to do what they were doing, I would fall over of a heart attack!!! I really admire these people for doing what they are doing. So, the least that I can do to support them is to NOT eat while watching the show. Well, at least this worked for last night. We will see what happens next week. Oh, crude, I forgot that I start school next Tuesday night, so I guess that I will be able to keep that promise to myself afterall!!!!!!!

Amy WM --- girl, I will make a deal with you. You stop the smoking, and I promise to work harder on working out and losing this weight. We can set a "celebration" date, and go out for margaritas. That is, if you are at the point where you can drink alcohol without it being a trigger for you. How does that sound? Anybody else want to join in?

Joe & Tim- I’m very sorry to hear that you lost your fathers. Your & your families are in my prayers. My dad passed away 5 years ago...it was hard & we weren’t even close.

Faye-No worries about Saturday. In case you didn’t notice, I wasn’t wearing makeup either.

Amy WM- Good for you for stopping smoking! I quit after college & know it’s very hard to break the habit. Good luck & don’t give up. After a while, you’ll never think “Man, I wish I still smoked.”

Greg-Glad to hear the surgery was a success. Now you can go to Raleigh this weekend & film the pillow fight. You girls are having one, right?

Red Palace…mmmm! Ate there Sunday & me full long time.

Red Palace works for me. I'm working from home tomorrow so I'll be close to there anyway.

Kristen - I have come to realize that they do not know how to predict the weather in our area. All we got was ICE. School was delayed 2 hours. The cool thing with our school is they have an automated call system so when there is a delay we get a call at 5:45 AM !!!! with a recording. It's doing the freezing rain thing now so I took the kids to the bus stop for what good that did, they both stepped in a huge puddle as they were getting on the bus. And girl, I have seen you, where would 20 pounds go exactly? Are you trying to go for the aneroxic look? And I think you would look great with short hair like Kelly's...but then I have always been partial to short hair...

Faye Sowers (Crute)

Greg T, okay I am not going there with you (I thought you were such a nice boy) no one wants to hear my rants...........my final words......just wait and see.........I am a believer that you make no promises unless you can deliver upon them. There are hurt people thinking their world will change, we will see. Final Answer. (I can't keep those comments too short can I)

Steph, I will explain it later remember I am short most of my pants are long the waistband is a lot looser than the the hip and butt area (remember that I like big butt song well that rapper was a friend of mine) Its called a cameltoe.......that is the term.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Amy Wilhelm (McGuirt)

Kristen~ sounds like a plan!! However..I agree with Vicky~ not sure you have 20 lbs to lose!!
Erik~ so you still don't smoke??? Not even if you are drinking???? That's awesome! I can't think that far ahead yet :( I'll get there though!! Day 7 :}

01/07/09 12:06 PM #1700

Greg Terry

Jolee and peeps - I now have a conference call scheduled for tomorrow so lunch may be out for me. I'll know more tomorrow.

Kristen Witt (Bray)

Amy and Vicky --- Baby #5 did a number on my mid-section!!! Please don't get me wrong, I don't think that I am "obese" by any means, but the stomach/butt area definitely needs some toning up and the fat removed. I also think that my face is a little bit fuller than it should be. Again, I am not trying to say that I am big, just areas that need improvement. And if you think that I am wrong, then please come see me try on my clothes that I have had for several years that no longer fit. And I am just not very accepting to go to the next size up. I know that I have some weight to lose, and I definitely need to eat a little bit healthier and I definitely need to start exercising. You would think that I would have plenty of opportunity because I stay at home. The thing is that I could bundle Jake up in a stroller and go walking. The problem is that I can bundle Carter (my 3 1/2 year old) up but he would NOT keep up the pace that I need to burn calories. Either he would be running off ahead of me (which would be good to get my heart rate up) or more than likely, he would be lolly-gagging behind me (which increases my blood pressure due to anxiety!). And, I have been trying to do some walking/running at night, but I am usually so dead tired by the time that I put the kids to bed, that all I want to do is go lay down. Steve said that having sex burns off a lot of calories, and that he would be more than willing to help me out with that each night, but for some reason, I feel like he has an alternative motive. What do you think?

01/07/09 12:44 PM #1702

Vicky Lakes (Fuller)

Kristen - update your wardrobe with clothing that have "stretch" that way you don't have to go to the next size:) It's amazing stuff. Secondly, clothes that you have had for years...get rid of them..it's just a reminder of the once was. Exercise plan...mine is the number of steps (2 floors) that I have to climb while doing laundry. I specifically put our laundry room in the basement for that very reason :) You'd think with the age of my kids they would have started to do their own laundry by now.

Steve Jones called me and left me a message about lunch tomorrow...so, after my phone charges...it is deaaddddd. I will call him...also ask him to let Tara out for the weekend.

Leslie Loving can't come...said Jason is shooting some fireman calendar on Saturday and no children are allowed due to the adult content. I asked if they needed a nurse...but she is one...and a better one than me! Anyhoo, she did say to send her regrets and that she would lovvve for us to include her in any future outings...

Call or text me if you need me...

What time are we leaving Friday?!?!?!

amy, you are lucky you have someone to do this with. but this works. think about smoking for a moment. there's a physical addiction, over which you have now triumphed.

you will never lose the urge to smoke. i've known people who quit smoking 20 years ago and still crave it. so, it is a camusian moment, at all times.

link to my camus reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Camus

the urge to smoke now, for you, is handish and oral.

in addition to the list i posted, do this: kiss your husband EVERYTIME you get the urge. or kiss your kids. keep doing the spitball thing, since i KNOW that works. kisses are crucial since they are always inventive and always positive. smoking isn't any of those things.

you can do this!

and hey guys, i'll be in roanoke in a couple weeks.

01/07/09 07:53 PM #1706

Amy Wilhelm (McGuirt)

Kristen~ uuummm....yeah... I think there is always a different motive in the hubby area when it comes to their theory about calorie burning or any other ailment as far as that goes :) In the male mind... it seems to be the cure all!! Don't get me wrong.. I'm not complaining at all..just seems to me the male answer!
And girl.. who doesn't need to tone up! I hear ya! As a matter of fact one of the things on my to do list for tomorrow is to join the gym. It may even help me get through the smoking thing.. But in the end..I say when we meet our goals... drinks it is :)

ok Troy... kisses it is! :)

01/07/09 08:04 PM #1708

Jolee Clarke (Preston)

Hang in there AMY! Don't be like my hubby and be a closet smoker who SWEARS he isn't smoking....it's just not becoming!

And to Shawn Metzler~ Dammmnnnn girl....nurse anesthetist...that is big poo poo in the nursing world. Great job! When I went down for my orientation to Duke, the N.A. program students sit by themselves and are quite the "elite" group. I was very jealous, but couldnt do the time that goes into it...great job!!

Who's coming tomorrow? Me, Tim, Carla?, Todd?, Lugar?, etc.?

Oh, BTW, does anyone know anything about MACs? Not the makeup, the computer...I got one for my PhD studies and well...where is my software? Do I have to buy that separate? I cant create documents, spreadsheets, nothing? Damn, for $1300.00, I should have a nerd typing all this crap out for me!?!?!? HELP!!

01/07/09 09:14 PM #1710

Vicky Lakes (Fuller)

Jolee - Yep, your screwed, you need to buy the software separate.

Amy - ok, you quit smoking, Kristen you lose 20 pounds, I'll well, since I am not one to diet or exercise, I'll be your cheerleader :) But I think we need drinks prior to getting started.

Kristen, did I read somewhere that you will be in classes on Tuesday nights? What time? And BTW, you don't have to wait for it to snow to come over with the kids...and I'm sure we can cook up something other than boiling water :)

01/07/09 09:17 PM #1711

Jolee Clarke (Preston)

Dammit Vicky, I thought that was what was going to happen...

And anyone know how I can get my 1,400 songs from the home computer over to the new Mac? I bought a $100.00 300Kb storage....but when I look on my windows explorer for iTunes and copy it to the new storage...it doesnt take the songs....grrrr.....

Vicky Lakes (Fuller)

Thought I'd share this recipe..I tried it and it was absolutely DE-LISH.

Tortilla Soup - Crock Pot 3-4 Hours on Low. If you use the following "fat free" recipe its only 370 calories per serving. 60 carbs and 25 grams of protein.

16 oz can fat free Refried Beans
15 oz can black beans, rinsed and Drained
14 oz can fat free chicken broth
1 1/2 cups frozen corn
3/4 cup Chunky Salsa - at least Medium (but I like it with the HOT)
3/4 cup boneless skinless cooked chicken, cubed (I usually use about 3 chicken breasts as I like it a little more meaty)
1/4 cup of water
2 cups reduced fat shredded cheese
1 bag baked tortilla chips (any tortilla chips work)

Combine all ingredients EXCEPT cheese and chips. Cook on low in crock pot 3 to 4 hours. Add 1/2 of the cheese. Stir until melted. Crush chips in bowls. Add soup. Top with more cheese, sour cream and crushed chips.

Vicky Lakes (Fuller)

Jolee, you are screwed again...lol.

And for other itune users, I read the following today...

APPLE is cutting the price of some songs in its market-leading iTunes online store to as little as 46p and plans to make every track available without copy protection.

In Apple's final appearance at the Macworld trade show in San Francisco, its top marketing executive Philip Schiller said iTunes song prices would come in three tiers: 49p, 66p and 87p.

Record companies will choose the prices, which marks a significant change, since Apple previously made all songs sell for 66p.

Apple gave the record labels that flexibility on pricing as it got them to agree to sell all songs free of "digital rights management" or DRM, technology that limits people's ability to copy songs or move them to multiple computers.

Apple had been offering a limited selection of songs without DRM, but by the end of this quarter, all 10 million songs in its library will be available this way. While iTunes is the most popular digital music store, others have been faster to offer more songs without copy protection.

01/07/09 09:27 PM #1714

Vicky Lakes (Fuller)

Jolee - I wonder if your problem has to do with the
"digital rights management" or DRM, technology that limits people's ability to copy songs or move them to multiple computers.

01/07/09 10:00 PM #1715

Jolee Clarke (Preston)

Vick~ When I go to the apple site, it tells you how to send them from your iPod to the computer...and it tells you how to send your songs from the mac to a computer....but not from a computer to the mac....grrrrr..

Oh, for anyone who is trying to get hold of Steve Jones...he has been disconnected from his Verizon service all but his cell phone. This was Verizon's error and when I talked to him tonight, he said that his home phone will not be connected for a couple more days. This also means he does not have connection to the internet on a regular basis now...he WILL be at Red Palace tomorrow! Yay! See you all there! Who's coming?!?!? Me, Tim, Steve Jones for sure...
