Annette, Yes to all of the above! Great ideas. I definitely want the kids' memories included and I love the idea of putting a picture of the house!

Annette...you need to put any signatures or notes on scrapbook paper. If you don't have any...I will be glad to bring you some...I also do 12x12 size albums.

I almost took a picture of his old house in North Lakes today...it still looks exactly the same...very well kept.

As for the kids in the neighborhood...could you take their pics and then put a pic of each one beside what they write? What about that?

Great ideas....

I'll have to admit...I got the Metallica CD today...it's still in the wrapper...I know I will get ragged for this...but the CD I RIPPED into in the Walmart parking lot....was NKOTB....it's really good. I bet Angelo got it too....

Jolee, Amy WM, Lez - ditto. while everyone was enjoying their college days I was having fun in boot camp. Married at 19 and a baby right after my 21st birthday. I haven't lived in Roanoke since. Regrets yes, do it all again, absolutely.

Laura C. - You guys planning on coming to the dinner also? I should be getting in town sometime after lunch depending on traffic.

Soo, where's Brian Grubb these days?? I need him to finish the story he was telling me at the reunion.

Ann, thanks for all those pics of Mike...that's exactly how I remember him. Always happy and smiling.

Susie, I know you said you would be using your dad's truck, but if you want to ride together let me know. Do you know if Kristen's coming in?

Michelle KM- Glad you are doing well adjusting to the whole back to school factor. See you soon.

Hey ya'll, it's me. We drove into Roanoke on Friday night and came home around 7pm Sunday night. I am just now getting on the forum and getting caught up on everyone's postings. After visiting my daughters grave, I went to Mikes grave. (I decorated her vase with maroon, orange, and yellow flowers. Perfect for Tech colors, so I took a couple of them and placed them for Mike at his gravesite). The 4 sprays were still there and they looked beautiful, even though you could tell that the sun had already wilted them quite a bit. I wish that I could have been there with everyone. But, to be honest, it was nice just to sit there and "talk" to Mike. I think that it was very healing and it gave me some peace. I still feel Mike's presence on this forum, and I think that he would be in awe by how many people have come together because of this tragedy. I hope that we all will continue to keep his family and friends in our prayers for the next several years. Unfortunately, life will go on for us, but for his family, life will remain "still" for quite some time. Especially tonight and tomorrow will be extremely difficult. Just stop now and say a quick prayer. :)

I am so glad to see so many people joining this forum. I really, really want to come to the Homecoming game but I just don't see how it would be possible to make it home in time for the game. We left at 4:45pm this past Friday night and got to Roanoke at 11:30pm. With 4 kids, it is difficult to drive straight through with only 1 stop. I am really tempted to still come in that weekend, but will there be anything going on Saturday or Saturday night? If so, then I will do my best to make it in.

I think that everything that everyone is doing for Mike's family is awesome. I think that his family can feel the love that we all have for Mike.

And, just one more thing, besides being the best class ever, I think that we are the best LOOKING class ever. Just look at us now!!!! We really do not look like we just celebrated our 20 year reunion!

anyone who logs in with the password can upload photos. I just ask that if you upload you remember to put your name in the caption somewhere. Maybe something like:

From Laura (Wolfe)Campbell - picture of Mike from.....

Thanks! Let me know if you have any problems!

Faye...do you know where McCain stands on the SOLs? I have yet to hear his opinion on that matter. Myself, I have a LOT of opinions about the_______ _______ SOLs. But I will try not to offend your sweet ears. :)

Everyone - Thank you all so much for your kind condolences - we do need this time of bonding and Jolee, it's not being OCD at all. Like you, I felt a little "outside" the looking glass from everyone, not from lack of friendships but when you're in band, live on a small farm and worked as I did, there wasn't much time left to hang out. Chris Akers and I talked about this at the reunion and I too have this urge to reconnect with you guys. We would always go trick-or-treating with some cousins & friends in North Lakes or Petty Acres off Plantation and had the best time just being kids !

Kelly ~ I just finished reading about your (date) with Mike and my screen almost got covered in Raisin Bran & watery milk ! Go GOOOOODE !

Jolee ~ You have always been so sweet and gracions and I think you're the BEST to keep our forum and class together and thriving

Amy ~ So good to see you too at the reunion and yep, Miley always kinda creeped me out too, sort of reminded me of a Neanderthal man. Got to see more of him at Lee Hartman's too when I worked for them. He would come into buy equipment and it was then I decided to take a lunch break !

Susie ~ I'm glad to hear the storm wasn't as bad in TX as first thought. God protects us in many ways and has certainly blessed our class richly.

Brian D. ~ Thanks for your reflections on Mike and other class memories. I know if we remember, there are more side-splitting memories of his hijinks. I remember riding Mrs. Edison's bus with you guys several years and what fun we had.

Perry ~ It was good seeing you @ the reunion too and you like so many others haven't changed a bit. We are indeed a very young-looking class.

Kelly ~ I think you may have an identical twin ! A girl I used to work with at Hartman's who works in the accounts dept. could be your twin sister. Her name is Becky Bonhotel and she lives in Botetourt. I should get you guys together sometime.

Well, gotta run. Jolee, since you have the experience, would you like to come on over and hang some shingles for me ? Ha, ha ! Be blessed, Joe

09/15/08 05:15 PM #149

Kelly Houston

Oh my gosh...Becky Bonhotel from Botetourt? Does she eat blueberry bon bons and drive a beat-up brown buick? Ha ha, Joe. Couldn't resist. There's something kinda kooky (or dirty) about the name Becky Bonhotel, but if she's my identical twin I'm sure she's a great gal!

No, but really. I've heard several times that I have a twin around here. I'm sure she's been accused of all kinds of unfortunate things, poor woman.

I'm proud of so many of you for honoring Mike with all of the photos and scrapbook projects, and the music, prayers, and everything else you all are cooking up. How genuinely sweet. What a great bunch of folks we have in our class. Oh yeah...and you're good looking, too! (I agree with Kristen...I think we look better now that we did back then).

Oh...and Jolee. I am picking up what you're throwing down, girl...about being so busy with a boyfriend in high school and then moving swiftly to marriage and a baby without hitting the college scene first. Been there and done that. Did everything backwards, but it's all done and I'm happy to reconnect with everyone now but I do have moments where I try like mad to not have regrets.

Life's too short for regrets.

Dennis~I like your photos...I'm a little tormented by one of them...Stephanie L., you'll have to do a little reading back a few hundred days to understand. It's all good in the hood though...I'm printing them out now...just kidding...

09/15/08 07:48 PM #151

Kelly Houston

Jolee- I know what you're doing. You are cutting her out of the picture and super-imposing your own image with him.

It's hard to do. So I've heard. Not that I've tried it or anything...

Jolee Clarke (Preston)

It just....hurts....you know....I am sooo vulnerable right now...my emotions are a wreck....and then I have....to....gosh....I mean, OMG WTF?!?! I think it's the whole "I'm on the outside complex..." Stephanie L., you know I always liked you...you know I ALWAYS thought your mother looked like a young Barbara Streisand...and isn't her name Georgia?!?! I mean, that's as cool as Kristy Keesee's middle name (of whom is one of my all time IDOLS)...and if everyone sees how hot you are now...I might as well shut the site down...dammit to hell. Always "the big girl..." That's me. I'm over it...can't you tell...

And...um...who says I don't have my own pics....maybe they just aren't printed....they are....somewhere else...

:)~

I hope my husband doesn't read this...I love him, ya know. MY HUSBAND!!!!

Kelly and Jolee...you girls crack me up! I'm thankful for the laugh, it's been one of those Mondays, followed by a long weekend, the kids were in rare form...or my nerves were already fried. Took a couple of Lortab and went to bed early last night, woke up feeling much better, then...the day from hell...and to finish up a fun day...a birthday party at Chucky Cheese tonight! We just got home, bathed/scrubbed (way too many germs at the Cheese), and kids are finally off to bed! Just through a load of clothes in the washer, as soon as they hit the dryer...I'm taking some Tylenol PM and hitting the sack (afraid to take Lortab two days in a row-I like it too much). Anyway...thanks for the laughs.

Lunch girls...I could use a gathering this week. I'm pretty flexible for this week, and is my last week until the middle of October. I start traveling next week and won't be back in the office more than a couple of days until the second week in October.

Dennis...the new pics are great!

Goodnight Vikings!

I get out of the hospital with my blueberries (ie. students in blue scrubs) around noon. I could be somewhere by 12:15 if anyone wants to do lunch. Anywhere. Somebody just text my cell 540-493-4320 if anyone wants to do lunch. I don't care where. Anybody ever go to Fast Freddy's? Good food. Let me know...going to bed...gotta get up at 0445 or zero-dark-thirty....talk to you all tomorrow.

I did talk to my old boss from Houston tonight...he has 6 people and 6 dogs in his 3 story condo. He is one of only a couple hundred people within miles who has power. He actually never lost it. He said downtown H'town is tore up! He fared well though and said he would never sit through another hurricane. Just glad he is okay.

Oh, and to add another laugh to the pot...he did remind me that I am the only girl his gay self has ever hooked up with.....now THAT is a compliment....RIGHT?!?!?! I do love him...and no, I did not know he was gay. I had an idea. The immaculately decorated house, the pedicure, the Mercedes...I knew it was too good to be true.

NO CHRIS A., I AM NOT A HORNDOG....I AM OUTGOING....

Ok Jolee, please save me from going back several hundread days ago. Just give me the story. Did you have a little crush on the Goacher boy(s)? I had to look at Dennis Mundys' pictures to see what in the world you all were talking about. The picture is a bit scarey if you ask me. I think you two would have made a much better couple. You should have let your feelings be known back then so you wouldn't be feeling so flustered today. You two would have made beautiful babies and you know you still can, it's never too late. You know I always liked you too eventhough you were plotting to steal my beau or beat my ass back in the day. :)

Thanks Kelly for letting me know just what she's up to with the picture. Keep me posted.

And Carla, you, by far, had the best swing ever made(thanks to your father). Barry doesn't know what a real swing really is if he never used it. My vote goes to your swing! Too bad we can't get a hold of it now. That would be so fun if I knew I wouldn't break any bones, pull any muscles, fracture my skull, you know the usual at our age.

No babies here Steph...all the plumbing is gone...THANK GOD. One ten pounder and I called it quits. And yes, it's no secret...Anders and I were good friends back in the day. He won't come out and play on the message forum here...so I just keep talking, and talking. No biggie. No hookups with old friends...better stick to the wonderful hubby that I have. No hard feelings...none at all! It just gives us all something to have fun talking about. But I do honestly care a great deal about the boy. Not hiding that. No need to at this point. Just like the fellas say that there are some girl hotties in our class, yes there are some guy hotties as well...Steph, have you checked out Angelo's pics?!?! Ummm....yeahhhh....let me know what you think!! I just love my friends, classmates, brothers, etc. I'm very fortunate for parts of my past. We'll end it at that.

And Stefanie, I couldn't fight my way out of a paper bag...unless you were trying to hurt my family, my cat, or my dog...so there were no plans to whip up on you...by any means. He knew who the hottie was....

Hope everyone is having a great week. After a Sunday night bbq and drinks..it's 9 pm and this girl is going to bed! Sweet dreams everyone!

Jolee, you are too funny! These stories are great!!! For the record, I was joking with you about all that. You do know that, I hope. Anders would be flattered; he loved the ladies. We need to get in touch with that boy.

Erik G, get your brother to communicate!
