Sudha so glad to get your message. My goodness you are tall....were you always so tall? I mean how did everyone grow up but me........Your family is gorgeous and you all look so young.

Can we be nearing 40? Can someone wake me I cannot be getting near 40 well I am actually still 38 and I am keeping it that way........I always thought 40 was old....are we old? I don't feel old, I still ask them to card me at Kroger when I buy alchol and get quite peeved when they laugh....why would they laugh......

Faye...the Griffon is AWESOME. Rode it twice last summer. Unless you are a real adventurer, do NOT, I repeat NOT sit in the front row...it completely hangs over the edge. Second row is pretty scary, third row isn't bad at all. Have fun and ride all the coasters you can, you only live once - and yes we are getting old and you won't be able to ride forever!! (o:

Hi All~ What a week. I just want to put it to bed, but it keeps getting worse. Ever have one of those? No hot water this morning..Johnny had shut the HW heater off last night to work on this contraption he has rigged up since we are on a well...welllll....then, after NO shower (ewww!) this morning, I am on fumes, dropped Kenzie off in Salem and my gas door won't open with the floor switch-thingie! I knew I didn't even have enough gas to get to the Honda dealership! So, I did what a good nurse would do and I started critically thinking about WHY the switch wouldnt open....long story short, there was a pen in the floor latch keeping it from opening. Got to the office, it was biting big ones, came home to Rocky Mount, took a shower (yayyyy!!), then got a phone call that one of my mom's employees who is like a brother to me is in ICU and not expected to live...aspiration pneumonia from vomiting. He is rough, lived a less than angelic life, but has defended my honor many times over the years...so I am quite upset. I just want to make everything better and sometimes you just can't...and it sucks.

And Faye, I got my tickets for Keith Urban the Tuesday before they went on sale on Friday...I am in the fan club...cheesy, yes...but he just does it for me and I just don't know why. The last person I got this gaga over was Andy Gibb!!!

Big Hug out to you Jolee.......sorry about what you are going thru let us know what we can do.............You know my house is in Salem.....we have several showers, now I don't have one of those nice toliets with the warmer and shooter thingy but we have water most days so anytime you need a shower come on by.............I still have to laugh at that.....love it............hang tough! maybe you need a group lunch so you can feel the love.....anyone out there up for lunch next week....come on peoples we haven't gotten together for a time and maybe Jolee needs a group hug come on speak up........lets get together.................

Hello all... The Griffon @ Busch Gardens is quite fun but I enjoyed Alpengeist more as it is much faster than any of the others! Sarah and I went camping in Williamsburg in August the week of my birthday with another couple and we spent the day there and had a blast! If you are going for the roller coasters: do not get there until the afternoon and stay until closing. The families usually peter out around dinner time and the lines begin to get shorter, but about one hour before closing is when the fun begins! We did not have to wait in line for more than thirty seconds (literally!) and actually did not have to get off of it a couple of times because there was no one waiting in line for our seats! We ended up riding Alpengeist something like 17 or 18 times in less than 45 minutes... Yes, I was reliving my childhood! Sarah has that effect on me... Hope every one has a good one!!!

Just wanted to let you all know that Stefanie Lugar's grandmother passed away this morning. Stefanie and her family could really use our support right now during this difficult time. Her Grandmother's name is Dorthey Madeline Lugar and she will be at Oakeys North Chapel on Peters Creek Road. As we continue to go down our life's path, one thing that comforts me beyond belief is the fact that I know I have you all there to hold me up when I just don't think I can stand any longer. What a gift.

Stefanie --- I am so sorry about the loss of your grandmother. I know how close you were to her. Just know that you are in my prayers. We were in Roanoke last weekend and I am just now checking the NHS website, so I am sorry that this is late. Hugs and kisses to you!

Jolee -- how is your friend doing that was in the ICU? Please keep us informed. And you couldn't have said it better. We need others to hold us up when we don't feel like we can stand. I especially feel that way today since it was 10 years ago today that my 1st daughter was born. So sad to think that she would have been 10 years old. Today is tough but I know that she is smiling down on me along with my mother. :)

Kristen~ Wow, no words for what you are thinking about today. Not even going to try. We joke about our kids driving us crazy, but they make us who we are...they are mini-me's (God help Kenzie). Your immeasureable loss is Heaven's gain...I know those are only words...but I really have a difficult time wrapping around the thought of losing a child. I am thinking of you today.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter. Once again, I urge you to say a little prayer for Mike Goode's, Tanya Green's, and Rusty Frieze's families, whose Easters will never be the same. Also for those who have recently lost a loved one.

We are truly blessed to have each other...and I thank you for that!

Happy Easter Everybody!

Just had a few minutes before the lunch crowd comes to the Preston house. Things are finally setlling down and I am sure that someone must have repaired the crack in the moon that was causing all of the shifts in personalities, etc. A new prescription for Wellbutrin hasn't hurt me either! Ha ha! Geez, it was crazy there for a while. As for my "brother from another mother," the one who wound up in ICU...he is doing okay. He was discharged home with antibiotics. He tried to come in to work the next day...um, no. Mom sat him down and told him this was his chance...that being in ICU he basically detoxed, so keep up the good work. Sometimes we are so quick to judge those with addiction problems and label them as "problems," but what I have come to learn is these are the people who are crying out for help and have just found some sort of coping mechanism to ease their pain, whatever it is.

I definitely am in for lunch, let's shoot for the deli at Towers, upper level, where DJ GT was talking about. Thursday or Friday? I'm good for both...

Sending out big hugs to everyone! I am planning on going to the NHS Open House...if anyone wants to meet up, we can make a Class of '88 showing...let me know!

Jolee --- I am so glad that your "brother from another mother" is doing well. I will keep him in my prayers. And you are right, we are so quick to judge...about anything and everything. I pray all the time that I can learn better about accepting others and learn how to deal with the things that they are doing that you know are not healthy or wise. We just have to be supportive and be there for them and try to talk to them without coming across as judgmental or critical. Sometimes people need a kick in the butt, but mostly they need our love.

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter. And if you don't quite understand the significance, then watch The Passion of Christ (I think that is the title). It will put a whole new perspective on you!!!!
