Hey everyone!!! I've been absent for so long, I'm so clueless. I'm taking an online class, and life has been full. I love hearing about how everyone is enjoying their students the last few days of school. I adore mine, but they can not handle playing for longer than usual, watching a movie longer than 25 or 30 minutes. Tomorrow the kids leave after half a day, and I have a schedule written down cause they can not handle a day of freedom. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR- Oh well, just a few more hours and I get a break. I love them dearly, but I need to recharge. Just have to finish my class by Monday, and then I get to enjoy my own babies. I'd love to do something with you all this summer. I will have my kiddies all the time, but know I can work something out. I've missed everyone sooo much- it will be nice to be back in the loop again for a bit. Hugs everyone- Take Care-

Hey all, well school is all finished here in PA. Jess returned safe and sound from her 8 day mission trip back to Peru. Looks like she may go back at the end of August. Graduation was Saturday June 6th. It still hasn't sunk in yet that I have a high school graduate....but John and I were still young in comparison to most parents there :p
Sunday we had her party...oh the food, you cannot imagine how much food we had. But having well over 100 teenagers rotating through we didn't have much in the way of leftovers so that was good. I don't think my kids could handle eating any more leftovers.
Congrats Carla on the new vette...when I make it to Roanoke sign me up for a ride... speaking of new rides John got a new car (yea, we didn't get Jess a new car for graduation, we gave her John's 96 Blazer and he got the I turned 40 belated present) It's red, sunroof, 5 speed turbo, but not a vette, a VW Jetta. This is the first car we have bought in over 13 years...it's been minivans, suvs or pickups, so it's cool to ride around on the ground again.
Michelle, glad you made it through a year. I know you will be glad when it's over...but look forward to it starting all over again in September.
Trina, I hope to make it down in July, but I know for certain I will come in September as my mom is going to Charlottesville to have a cyst removed from her liver. When I know more I will email you dates...I may also be taking a short trip to VA Bch if you are going to be out that way say the end of June...

Has no one posted anything in days? Or am I just a dink and can't find them. Computer savvy I am not. Okay- just wanted to say hello and get back to my house cleaning and yard work. I feel like I've been on a jungle expedition working in my yard. I haven't had the time to do tons, and it was a disaster. Anyone know how to kill bamboo? (short of using nuclear material or an atom bomb?) I so hate that stuff. Wow Vicky- a high school graduate- that just blows me away. Cool though.

I miss you all- Take Care- HUGS

Michelle...trouble sleeping tonight, so I am up late. Sorry to tell you that if it is true bamboo you will NEVER get rid of it! A lot of people like to do crafty things with it...you would be better off to find someone who has a use for it! It is great for staking up large houseplants too. Maybe you could get a couple pandas!

Wanted to share this warm fuzzy...
The tennis pro at Ashley Plantation is a friend of mine and last Friday she got a call from a grandmother who gets her grandkids on Wednesdays. Seems these children lost their father last year and they want the oldest one to start tennis lessons because his Dad was such a great tennis player. Didn't take me long to figure out she was speaking of our own Mike Goode! I assured her that Mike's Mom wasn't just putting her on...he really was that good!
I told her that Camden might very well become her prized tennis student!
I was so happy to hear that Mike's parents are getting some facetime with the kids. I saw Camden at a baseball game recently and I could really see Mike in his eyes.
Doesn't that just make ya feel good?

Yea Michelle, reality is slowing sinking in...right about the time you make that first deposit on college...ugh.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. 17 days into June and only 5 have been dry...I am so sick of rain.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Hey everyone. I owe ya'll a huge apology considering that it seems like everyone who is on this forum is also on Facebook and I have been keeping up with ya'll thru that website. But, for rest of the gang that does not have access to Facebook, I am sorry that I haven't been communicating on this forum. I promise to do better.

Carla: Michelle is trying to get rid of our Bamboo forest that was in the back of the Morgans yard and extended up to the Byers(?) home. Tell her that she can't do that because that was where we all use to play!!!! :) Also, that was great news about Mike's kid. I really do miss him!

Michelle: Please don't take down our Bamboo play house! Hee~hee. Love ya!

I am finishing a class tonight and then I start an online class next week. I am really ecstatic because I can see how I am progressing thru these classes. I am hoping by next Fall that I will be able to start student teaching and hopefully find a job asap. We still don't know if we will be in PA or VA this time next year. So, I am just praying that God will put us where He wants us to be. I have such a strong faith that I am not worried about where we will move.

I hope that everyone else is having a great summer so far. It's hard to believe we are already in the month of July. It seems like summer is just flying by!

OMG! I forgot about Michelle living on my old street. I didn't realize that was the bamboo we were talking about. I think Jeff Morgan's Dad managed to kill enough to keep it out of his yard. The Diercks planted that bamboo before I got there in 1977...so it has been there a while. I am with you Kristen...I liked it.
