It has been a long, strange trip since high school. Graduated from University of Rochester in 93 with B.A. in Religion. I intended to go to graduate school, but I was directed into campus ministry with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. I served with IVCF four years, three of them at Binghamton University.
Feeling a call to drama ministry, I then joined Covenant Players drama company (Oxnard, CA) and travelled though the U.S. with them for three years. I met my wife, Heidi, in January 2001, and we got married July 4, 2001. We got off the road in December of 2001 and spent 8 months in Mason, WI (where Heidi grew up). We then went to Waukegan, IL for Heidi to finish her bachelor's degree at Trinity University. I worked at Hewitt Associates - a benefits outsourcing firm - until September 2004.
In October 2004, we moved back up to Mason so I could serve as interim pastor at Bethany Baptist Church, the church Heidi grew up in. After about nine months there, the congregation asked if we would stay permanently. So, this is where I've been since then.
We have two wonderful children, Kevin (5/18/07) and Lauren (11/17/08), who are a constant source of joy for us.
I won't be able to make it back for the reunion. It's hard to get away that weekend this year, and we don't make it out to Rochester as often as I'd like to, anyway. Thanks to all who worked hard to get this website and all the plans going. You've done a truly wonderful job with it!
Since I won't be able to be at the reunion, I'll share with you the most important thing I can. My greatest hope is that even if I don't catch up with you in this life, that we'll see each other in the next. The way there is through trusting Jesus Christ as the one who took the punishment for our sins and who rose from the dead to give us eternal life. He takes us just as we are when we turn away from our sins and turn toward him, but he doesn't leave us just as we were. He changes us, making us more like himself. Unless we turn from our sins and place our trust in him, we will spend eternity away from God in hell. I pray that if you haven't already placed your trust in Jesus Christ, that you will do so today.
God bless you all!
