The last time I saw Phil, and the only time since HS, was in the Ramada Inn lounge. This must have been 19 and 86. He was recently divorced, and had the blues big time. Some friends of his (who I didn't know) had brought him to the lounge to cheer him up. It so happened the Class of 66 was having a reunion that weekend and the place was full of '66 grads and their spouses, many of whom were '65 grads, including Juddy Drennan. Phil got the mistaken idea that his friends had arranged for Juddy, me, and all the other people he recognized to be there to cheer him up. He was going, "I can't believe y'all did all this for me". Nope, Phil. Just a wild coincidence. It did make him forget his troubles though.
