Buddy Lineberger VIEW PROFILE

CATAWBA - Mr. Ward Britton "Buddy" Lineberger Jr., 65, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Tirzah ARP Church, Mount Gallant Road, with Drs. Andy Putnam and Bob Elliott officiating. Burial will be private.
A native of Rock Hill, Buddy was the son of the late Ward B. Lineberger and the late Virginia Hood Lineberger. He was a member of Tirzah ARP Church, where he enjoyed helping with the children's fishing club; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping; and he was happiest when he was out in nature. He had been very active in Boy Scouts of York County and had received The Order of the Palmetto for his years of service and dedication. Buddy was involved in flowers for over 50 years. He spent many years designing and in later years in wholesale sales. He was retired from Floral Trends Wholesalers in Charlotte, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Lineberger.
Surviving are his former wife and good friend, Patricia Lineberger; two sons, Britt Lineberger and his wife, Carole, and Sam Lineberger and his wife, Stephanie; six grandchildren, Daniel Thomasson and his wife, Amber, David Thomasson and his wife, Kerri, Korie Lineberger, Lindsey, Chelsea and Sierra Maloney; and two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Taylor Thomasson.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at their respective homes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Lineberger's name to the American Cancer Society , 500 E. Morehead St., Ste 211, Charlotte, NC 28202 or to Tirzah ARP Church, Cemetery Memorial Assoc., 6161 Mt. Gallant Rd., York, SC 29745.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Buddy 's family. He was a great guy and I will always remember his broad smile and his gentle spirit. We were classmates and good friends. It has been almost 40 years since I saw him last , but I would definitely pick him out in a crowd.
