Timothy Knox McGarity JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Timothy Knox McGarity, 66, longtime resident of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013. He was born in Chester, S.C., son of the late Hugh Samuel McGarity and Annie Mae Knox McGarity who survives. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Linda S. McGarity. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed sharing his catch with family and neighbors. He also was a golfer and was fortunate enough to score a hole in one. Surviving in addition to his mother are three sons, Todd (Steffanie) McGarity, Jason McGarity and Brett (Lisa) McGarity; four grandchildren, Haley, Nicholas, Zachary and Wyatt; a brother, Donald (Joyce) McGarity; and many dear friends.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, at Westminister Presbyterian Church, 4000 India Hook Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29732, with the Rev. Jack Basie officiating.

So saddened by the news. I have many fond memories of being next door neighbors while in elementary school. Paul mentioned memories with R.J. and Wayne. I remember R.J. and a couple more of those guys jumping off of our garage roof and my thinking they were going to kill themselves.
