I met Brenda Workman on my first day in the first grade. We became instant best friends that day and thru the end of the 4th grade. Finley Road was completed so I started 5th grade there and lost track of her until high school.
Our friendship was never the same because of the years that separated us. However, I did go to her home and talked with her a few years ago. She and I laughed and talked about our grammar school years and our great, old friendship.
I am sorry that what we started in grammar school did not resume in high school, and I am saddened by her untimely death. She will be missed. Jeri
