Wayne Wingate (Wingate)

Heartbroken to learn this news. Ken was such a good person. As adults it was always a great pleasure to see him. I remember in high school going to his house where he would put a stack of records on and play the drums as each one played. I would sit therer in awe of his talent. Prayers for Janice and the family as they go through the grieving season. R. I. P. to my  friend , Kenny Cushman.

Another message from Betty Mathis Diamond: Sorry to report another classmate has passed away. This morning Ken Cushman daughter, Jennifer, posted Ken had passed away. Janice Mitchell White messaged me to say: Ken had gone in hospital for stints to be put in, routine & all went well. He was at home, laid down to take a nap & never woke up. Very sad Father's Day& so unexpected. Will advise as I know anything else. Thanks 🙏 B

With email, Facebook, instagram and 11 grandchildren, I don't get on this website very often. Yet I do appreciate all the hard work that Becky, Kay and Dee do to keep us all updated. With the recent passing of two classmates and spouses of classmates, it makes us realize how much closer we are to meeting our maker than we think. Only God knows how much time we have left here on Earth. So be kind, share God's love and live life to the fullest until it's time to change our address to Heaven!

I don't know why Northside kids and Central kids knew each other even before high school - maybe it was the sports rivalry, maybe it was the girls at Central, maybe it was the fact that Ken Cushman's granddad ran Mullis's Store at the corner of N. Confederate and Willowbrook Ave. and it was a stopping off point on the way to Confederate Park.  Mr. Mullis was our scoutmaster at Northside Baptist.  I just know that when I started RHHS, I would have bet that in Webster's Dictionary that Kenny's picture would have been beside the word "cool".  Thougts and prayers to Janice and the family.

Ken Cushman was a great friend to so many. Talented musician, high school athlete and all around good guy. One of the neatest and most important things I know about Ken was that he knew the Lord personally. He absolutely loved his family and was so proud of them. Since my diagnosis a few months back Ken has reached out on numerous occasions and shared his faith and his time praying for my healing. I reviewed our recent text messages yesterday and it warmed my heart. The last correspondence was last Thursday. I consider it a privilege to have known Ken. All around great person. A great guy. A great friend. One thing I know for sure is that he is with the Lord today in Parsdise. Susan Wall is so right in her comments earlier we all have spent our time so far on this earthly site. The RHHS Class of 1966 has lost so many wonderful classmates lately. Our next address hopefully will be with Ken and the multitudes in Paradise. God Bless us all.

Like Dee said, this is the third friend from our grammer school in a very short time. Ricky and I not only went to Central together, we grew up at Park Baptist Church together. though I haven't seen him in many years. I hope he had a good life.

I just learned the following about Rickey Folsom. He had less than $7 in the bank and a car worth around $500.

This was posted by his daughter who is serving in the Army....

Any help is appreciated at this time to help with funeral expenses.  Funeral costs are over $10k. He wasn’t covered by any insurance.
He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.
He was an army vet, and served as a light wheeled mechanic for 10 years. He loved the brotherhood of his brothers at the VFW.
