And it's about time. Most other Indian Nations have had gambling since the 80's. South Carolina really did our Catawba Nation badly, I hope this can make up......but they are way behind

Congrats!  It's about time that Ribbon Cutting took place.  Opportunity will be welcomed in the area and the jobs it creates.  I'll have to make a trip intead of going to Oklahome or Colorado or Cherokee.  This will be close to my hometown when I come home to visit.

LAURENA, PICK ME UP AND I WILL GO WITH YOU..A GIRL'S TRIP PLUS A REUNION!

What a great story on Butch and his love for his family and the Catawba nation. His love and leadership will be missed by many. What a lasting legacy he left. I'm amazed at so many of the accomplishments and gifts of our fellow classmates. Proud of you all and the way you gave and have given back throughout your lives.
Well done !

Robert, I agree with you 100%. There is so little we know about our classmates and most have led quite productive lives. It's inspiring to know what quality lives they have had and what wonderful people they were or still are. Thanks for your comments.  I might add that while coming across this article I also found that Butch had been highlighted on WSOC-TV when he died.  He obviously was an important member of the Catawba Nation and quite admired by many.   Kay
