That was some storm yesterday!  We had hail and torrential rain in the Arboretum area of Charlotte. Tell us your storm stories. Hope everyone is safe.

We got a few pop corn size pieces of hail but mostly heavy rain in South Park. Our friends off Carmel Road had more hail and resulting debris, some outside plants destroyed.

Beck: We had about 20-30 minutes of hail, pea-size, but I thought it would never stop. The rain was running in sheets off the roof and the gutters couldn't hold all the water. There was a "geyser" spewing up out of the ground where we have a french drain. Not too much debris in the yards. Thanks for the report. Glad all is well at your house.

Thanks Jimmy. Love the pictures! Spring has sprung. Sitting at my desk I can see out the window to my neighbor's yard and I watched her blue bird house for a week or so. There was a lot of activity but now all is quiet. I'm hoping they all live elsewhere now and a new family will move in. There was a goldfinch at the water bowl yesterday, the first I've seen in two years. Duke Power came and cleared under the lines not long ago and disturbed the birds' habitat. I hope they return. Does anyone have the new hummingbird feeder?

I am helping plan my Sunday school class's charity golf tournament coming up this Monday May 16 at the Edgewater Golf Club in Lancaster, SC. Kay....and any other H Bird watchers. I had no luck with that new style feeder, I have mine hanging from a shepards hook and when the wind would blow it would tilt and spill most of my nectar. If you could set it on a flat surface it would probably be great. Caveat Emptor
