Ricky was one of the best friends I had in High School. Spent plenty of time listening to him and the band he played with playing drums. He is still the best drummer I ever heard. Sorry I wasn't there when things went bad. Was away in service then. That question about if there was anything you would do different, I would definitely have tried to talk with him and been a better friend when he needed it and maybe things would have been different and so many lives would not have lost.
I remember seeing Ricky at school. I can't recall what happened. Someone please feel me in. I think he was in trouble with the police right? Did he die in prison?
Ricky and I were supposed to go into the U.S. Navy on the "buddy plan" in August of 1970. We went to get our physicals, but unfortunately Ricky had some type of a back problem and did not pass. I can only imagine what his life would have been like if he had passed the physical.
I believe it was around 1974 or 1975 in my early twenties a group of friends would go to an after hours bar to hear this great drummer Ricky. Talked to him quite a bit but for some reason just didn't know we went to high school together. Sure had alot of fun just didn't realize how troubled he was til I had moved to Hilton Head and my sister called with the shocking news. RIP
I knew Ricky and his family. His Dad and my Dad worked together at the bleachery.I think when his Mom died that family just fell apart. He was a very good drummer. Here is a rose for you Ricky...Jenny Ramsey Potter

Rick was the greatest drummer ever. His talent was well ahead of all other drummers. He could have played professionally....what a waste.Roger Brown

Ricky was always so sweet and kind to me in school. I was so sad when he chose the wrong path.
