It was my privalege to manage the East High basketball team that Mark was on from 1961 to 1964. He was a good player and a real leader on the teams. He obviously lived a Christian life. Peace Mark.
Now that you mentioned it Robert, I do remember those basketball days fondly. For the longest time, all I remembered was that Mark played and I didn't. He was tall and talented. I wasn't. That memory has faded by now. The team experience was a first and Mark was one of the leaders on it. Peace, Mark.
I remember Mark very well, we did score some points...I was looking forward to seeing him again but I'll just have to wait awhile. Great knowing him as a friend. RIP
I am lucky enough to count Mark among my good friends from East High. We shared a table in physics class and he was always sensitive to the fact that the girls in the class (there were only two of us) got picked on. He was a real gentleman as well as an intelligent person and a good athlete.
I knew with Mark as a teammate on the East basketball team. He was a wonderful person for whom I had so much respect.
I was lucky to have lunch with him just a couple of months ago at the ORD airport. He was vibrant, mentally sharp, full of life. And he had a wonderful life going. Such a shock to hear he has passed. RIP dear friend.
Mark was proof that the nicest boys become the nicest men. He was my good friend throughout high school . We were chemistry lab partners in Mr Lausch's class. Mark, obviously carried us as he became an accomplished medical doctor, and I had a career in social sciences. Mark was kind and patient. I enjoyed visiting with him at our reunions . We reminisced, spoke of our families, and shared an interest in sailing. Our class of 1964 was made better with Mark and now has another void that can't be filled.

After transferring in from out of state in the middle of our junior year I was pleased to count Mark as a friend. I had great respect for him, admired his calm nature, intellect and athletic skills. While we lost touch over the years I was not at all surprised to see him have such a successful career in medicine and give back so much. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends and I am very lucky to have known Mark. So sorry to lose him at what we now consider a 'young' age...
