Barbara Drusendahl Hildebrand

Married my Senior year at University of Michigan. (BA in English, thanks to Mr. Buford). Moved to NYC for husband's job (that's what women did then). Worked on Wall Street, then we were transferred to the corn fields of PA; then Milwaukee; then Orchard Park, NY; then Springfield, IL where I got my MA in Psychology & a full time teaching job at Lincoln Land Cmty College. Husband was transferred to Chicago, but I got off the train. Taught for 21 years. Got my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology thru the Adler School in Chicago. Took early retirement at 55 & moved to CO to ski, hike, golf,tennis, fish. Also, did child custody evals for the courts. Rough business. My arthritic feet caused me to give up the sports, so I switched to bridge. Now play duplicate. My daughters are all married & I have 4 granddaughters (2 in Chicago & 2 in Atlanta). Daughter here is a Physicians Assistant. Does not want children (smart girl). My Dad is 96 & still going strong. Played 18 holes of golf at Avon Oaks up until a few months ago when he had a small stroke. He lives in the Beach House.
Dad died age age 98 after the Browns game finished. A charter member of the franchise,
I now live in SC.

I think of my high school years as pretty great. We really were an exceptional group of kids. I loved our potluck group. Remember when we had girls night only in the summer? I am still grateful to Melin Morrison's folks for teaching us bridge. It has really come in handy. I met my husband on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale on Spring Break when he was looking for a bridge partner. Now I play bridge in place of my sports.
After graduation from RRHS, we went our separate ways. From what I can tell, we were quite successful in our own special ways. Go class of 59!
