William Kevin Murphy

William Kevin Murphy

William Kevin Murphy passed away from acute leukemia on January 27, 1962 during our sophmore year. We don't believe he was mentioned in the 1962 yearbook, so the only pictures we have available are from the 1961 yearbook. We have created a profile for Kevin and would appreciate any information or pictures of him that you can pass along.

Thanks to Terry Mone for reminding of this classmate lost so that we could add him to our list of classmates and sadly to our In Memory page. Kevin, you were gone far too soon.

Kevin,

I'm sorry I took so many years to remember you and help give you recognition that you deserve.  You were a good friend and we had some good times shooting hoops at our homes as well as at Bob Werner's.  We both got to see each other every morning very early when we met at the Sunoco at Wooster & Hillard to pickup our papers to deliver.  How many friends can say they saw each other at "O Dark Early" every morning for a couple of years?  And the times we had together just hanging out and talking about how our lives were going.  You even got yourself a girlfriend when we started our Sophomore year.  Wasn't her name Marla?

Then the acute leukemia got ya way too soon.  Your Mom and Sister really missed you...I can't imagine what they went through as y'al had just lost your Dad a little over a year before.  At least I got to be one of your pall bearers along with Bob and others I don't remember.  I saw on Ancertry.com your Mom had remarried at some time and went to be with y'al when she was 92.  I don't know what happened to your sister...don't remember her name & Ancestry didn't have any info on her.  I'll keep her in my prayers anyway.  I'm sure there are others from our class who'll remember you and miss you too.  With Love & Peace-in-Christ,

Your ol' friend, Terry
