The Lord looked down here years ago and thought, "I need someone there to be the gate keeper of the land".

Lo and behold Lucia appeared  and was born this day.

We and I would like to wish you a Happy Birthday and many more to come. The light of our forum and the best of the best. March 14 is better for your day.

Enjoy, and you of all people deserve the biggest and bestest cake with your ice cream.

                             HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

And Happy Birthday a tad late to Mary ! But you get to celebrate free and clear no Pi Day or Ides of March to interfere with the awesomeness of reaching 76 !

Mary Ann I have a rescue pup, Miss Morgan and we do everything together. She is of great comfort I got her when she was a couple months old. Now she is six, she gives me the Catholic guilt look when I leave without her she is the best.

Happy Birthday, Rob, our musical guru.  It's already the 16th where you are, but I hope you were able to take your bouzouki to your favorite pub and  enjoy playing with "the lads".  I never thought that the Ides of March were so bad unless your "friends" were packing daggers.  Never heard of "Pi Day" Judy but I won't forget it.  Happy St. Patrick's Day to one and all, Irish or otherwise.

Mike, Since last March, the pubs in Ireland have been shuttered except for two weeks last fall. Rough on the publicans, but also devistating to the population. The pubs and trad music are the life blood of Irish culture. So I stayed at home and finished writing a couple of new tunes for when we get back together, and of course played a dozen of my favorites followed by some homeade Guinness stew. Two birthdays in lock-down. Whew!

A saying I hear most often here when I ask someone how they are keeping: "Well, I'm above ground, so...  not too bad!"

Lucia Lenhard (Johnson)

Above ground, indeed Rob, and grateful to birthday well wishers!  Thanks to each and all!  My old (British) mother in law used to say “taking nourishment” when asked how she was.

How is everyone coming along with vaccinations?

Lucia and all.

I hope everyone has gotten the vaccinations and came through them in good shape.

All the California O'Briens are in different stashes of recovering from Covid. I started it off around January 31. I got my 1st vaccine then and tested positive. down, at home, for a week.  My wife got it around Feb 8 and was only down 3 days.  Our daughter was the worst with it, On the 16th of Feb. in the morning while getting her up in her lift for toileting she couldn't breath. We took her to the hospital, admitted her where she was tested positive for Covid. She was on Oxygen for two days then a 5 day treatment of Revesavour, where it is the treatment lessen the virus. All in all 8 days in.

After all that I'm still the only one with both vaccinations. My wife just got her first and we can now start to get our daughters vaccines. I guess the old saying "Only the good die young".

We have since found out, if you are tested and catch the Covid in the first 5 days, you can get to a hospital and get an appointment that will be 1.5 hours and get a 15 minute drip they have been using on cancer patients for 30 years that takes the covid out. Check with hospitals in your areas. They say it is being done nationally.

You don't want it, honest.

Oh, Happy St. Patty's to all and stay safe!!!!!!!!!

Wow, Tom! What a scary time for you and your family. I am so grateful that you had the resouces for treatment and that everyone is ok now. Your devotion to caring for your daughter is inspiring. All best energy and blessings your way.

Interesting to hear about that treatment. There is always something new with this crazy thing. It will surely be a huge relief when every sniffle or sneeze isn’t cause for concern of a life threatening virus. Jeez oh man.

Happy Birthdays to Pat Belanger and Joyce Falcon.  I hope that your day is full of those you love and that the coming year is the best it can be.  (Tom will say to start it with cake and his wisdom is unquestionable.)  Lucia, there's another Irish blessing that is similar but concludes with "And may ye be in Heaven a day before the Devil knows you're dead".  Tom so glad that you and your family came through the "Purgatory" of the virus.  I hope your life is back on the track you want to be on.  Rob, I had a neighbor who would respond that his "liquid therapy" was working.  40 proof may be a chemical solution, but it wouldn't work as any kind of solution for me.  Merry Unbirthday to everyone!!

Happy Easter, everyone!!!  Lent is over and we can get back to whatever we "gave up" (if aything).  Not biting the ears off the chocolate bunny first I believe is a venial sin.  Rob, do the Irish recognize April Fools' Day, or is that just America?
