Lorrie, I'm afraid that your explanation is too deep and complex for me.  Could you simplify it, please?  And while you're at it - here's one that I'm sure you'll find easy - please explain women to us guys.  It'll probably be about 70 years too late for most of us but???????

Well, hi Geroge Penman - would know you anywhere - thanks for facts and so glad to know you check in here! Wish to hear more from you and to the other friends who may visit without remarking.

... Mike ... women don't deal with this conversation ... I mean, once one has the upper hand, why blow it with an explanation ? ... wink

Jabber, Jabber, Jabber. I love it, Have not seen this much action in a long time. My favorite expression is still, Change is never good.

Lorrie, we've noticed that women don't have this conversation.  I guess that I should thank you for explaining why you won't explain.  I guess.  Or I guess that I guess.

Lorrie, thanks for "carrying our flag".  You did a great job of explaining without actually explaining!  Keep ''em questioning.  Throw in a few "What are you feeling right now",  Bless their hearts, they will just walk away muttering.

Kathy ... "muttering" ... the perfect word to describe male conversation when at a loss for brain power ... thanx

... and gosh, it was great to see you in August ... wink

( I don't, on any level, harbor ANY animosity or negative feelings toward the male species ... but when  they leave it out there for me, unguarded, of course I'm going to pounce ... I'm only human [and female] ... )

Enjoy your cake and ice cream too. And remember....

Lorrie,

That was really grown up.

I am holding my belt so you cannot give me any more of your cooty's.

Lucia ... still laughing wink ... (I'll bet there's not a single classmate out there that didn't hear THAT one at least once ... )

There has to be somebody out there with a silly memory from the past ... please, just share it ... we can all use a good laugh ... blush

Lucia, you can stop the car but don't tell dad when he comes home.

Lorrie, Thanks for the fun time. You asked for people to send in their memories. That might be the problem. You and I could only remember 2 each. But yes, everybody can remember at least one, Send it in.

I was wondering why we hadn't heard from Mike Young here yet ... this stuff is right up his alley ... but I saw on Facebook today that his sister passed away this week and I assume he's quite busy with family ... she was a Sister of Charity and taught school and was principal at a school somewhere around Birmingham (I think) ... Requiem Eternam Sue ... rest in peace

Prayers for Mike Young and his family.

His sister Sue was a year ahead of us at Shrine.  She entered the Sisters of Charity in Cincinnati and attended Mt St Joseph College (run by the Sisters of Charity).  Some of us went to Mt St Joseph College a year behind Sue and would see her often.  Sue was a bright light - energetic, funny and sort of irreverant.

Sue had a distinguished career in education with her final job as principal of Roeper School in Bloomfield Hills.

Her obituary can be found on the Shrine Catholic Schools Alumni website.

Hi All,

it is time for an update.  I finished my cardio rehab sessions, and have moved on the join the Beaumont Health Club.  Since it is winter, I knew I needed to keep working as I feel I am about 40% back to normal.  The club offers me a greater variaty of exercise activities including water activities.  I can already feel improvement and it has only been about 4 weeks.  Everyone says I am doing great.

Well almost everyone.  My cardioligist was not happy with my slow heart rate and ocasional skipping a beat.  She had me wear a monitor for 5 days to get a better picture of what was happening.  It showed some unusual activity when I was sleeping.  On Thursday February 1st I got a call from my new doctor, an Electrophysiologist, who wanted to see me the next day and the only opening was at 8:00 AM.  Since it did not sound like I had a choice, I agreed.

This doctor deals with the "electrical" part of the heart.  Long story short, on Tuesday February 13th I am having a Electrophysiologic Study to determine if I need a pacemaker or a defibulator.  I just found out last night from a friend that I might get both, as he had the same kind of problems in 2018 and that is what he got. If they are needed, the implants will be done on the 13th.   I am OK with it, but I sure hope this is going to be the last of it.  I think I have contributed enough to the financial support of the medical community.

Since several of us have had dificult issues to deal with it is comforting to know we have great support helping us.  When things settle down, I will let you know the outcome. God Bless.

I have good news.  to quote my doctor "My God given parts are still working good.  There is no need for a pacemaker or defibulator at this time."  Last Tuesday was a long day, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM.  I will need to be on light duty for about two weeks while I heal, but after that I can resume my normal routine.

We want to thank all of you for the thoughts and prayers.  They have helped us a great deal over the past year.

Happy Birthday to Jayne.

One more happy and healthy year is coming. I hope it will be your best yet.

Enjoy your day, cake and ice cream and all the days to come.

  • The best days are when you eat cake in the middle of the day—so thanks for having a birthday!
