Tom O'Brien

Another day and another birthday for Jean S.

Many wishes for you today and hopes you will enjoy the day with friends and family.

Be sure the cake and ice cream flow freely.

Enjoy the day and upcoming year.

Don’t get all weird about getting older! Our age is merely the number of years the world has been enjoying us!

Happy Birthday, Annette, with the "light up the room" smile.  We missed you at the Reunion, but hope you had a good time with the family.

Jean, a happy belated birthday, I hope you celebrated with loved ones and your day was full of laughter and joy.  Any cake this year or just ice cream?  How is Pete's recuperation getting on?  Hope to see the two of you this August.

Dave - still progressing towards the health we all wish for?  I have it on reliable authority (the internet, of course) that ice cream and chocolate are very therapeutic - so don't miss any avenues to well being.

A Happy Birthday to Annette.

Wishing the little fisty one a wonderful day and the upcoming year,

I hope the year is good to you and you stay healthy and full of it.

Enjoy your cake, ice cream and all the other sweet things on your day.

As you get older three things happen. The first is your memory goes, and I can’t remember the other two. Happy birthday!

I am asking for prayers for Dan Janness.  Here is part of the last message from Dan to our bowling and golf buddies.  "I have a "slow heartbeat (form of Afib), quite a bit of fluid on my left lung, they will be draining, and I have the beginnings of congestive heart failure."

Dan is being admitted to Troy Beaumont this week to drain the fluid and do other tests.  Your prayers will help.

Dan,

Your to strong and ornary for a small thing like this to keep you down.

After the drain I'm sure they will put you on the right drugs to manage it.

Stay strong and maybe take it a little easy on the cake and ice cream.

I just got word that Dan is going home from the hospital tomorrow.  Prayers seem to work quickly.

Dan,

Glad to see you are coming home.  It sounds like you are having some of the same things I am facing.  I have not been diagnosed with afib but have a slow heart rate in the 40 to 50 range and the shortness of breath.  When I do my rehab, my heart rate does get in the "more normal" range.  Last Monday I went to see about a pacemaker.  After my exam and looking at the records that Doctor me he  was not concerned with the the low rate since I do go up with exercise.

It has been about 6 weeks since I started the rehab and I am just starting to notice some improvement in the breathing.  When I really thought about how this started, I realized that I began feeling that "I am getting older" about one and a half years ago.  It took a long time to get worn down, ( 78 years, but who is counting) and it is going to take time to get back.

Even though it may seem very slow, do what you have to, to get back.  If you have any questions please call.  My number is 586-612-2851.

I want to take a minute to thank all of you for the well wishes. Im back home and doing much better. Seems like my left lung decided to allow fluid to fill it up, 17 pounds later and lighter I am feeling so much better. Along with finding out my lung decided to take a swim the Doctors found Afib with my heart rate being stubborn and not wanting to go above 60 beeats per minute they, it has alwyas been this way since I ran marathons over 30 years ago, so one day who knows I may have to have a pacemaker in my future. The Doctors also found that I have what both of my parents suffered from, Conjestive heart failure. Again thanks for the well wishes, Im home my son and daughter in law and my dog Max are doing a great job taking care of me.

Word to the wise, pay attention to what your body is telling you. It could have been a lot worse for me, I dragged my feet for a short time before I demanded to get in to see my Doctor.

Dan,

Great news!  So glad to hear  you are on the mend.  These things sneak up on us and it takes a while to recgnize that we have a problem.  It also takes awhile to get back up to where we want to be.  It sounds like you have a really good team to help you.

Dave

A Happy Birthday to George "Penman" Brown.

Wishes for a wonderful birthday and even a better 2024.

Enjoy the day, the cake and all the ice cream you can handle.

Cheers on your birthday. One step closer to adult underpants

01/12/24 11:49 AM #3750

Lucia Lenhard (Johnson)

Does anyone know why we know George as Penman?

01/12/24 04:00 PM #3751

Lorrie Olesak (Bookbinder)

I am, for some unknown reason, under the impression that Penman is his middle name

01/13/24 12:01 PM #3752

Tom O'Brien

Penman was the only name I knew him by in school. I only saw George on here.

George, if your watching, let us know how I got Penman.

01/13/24 07:18 PM #3753

George Brown

As requested, Penman is my middle name. My grandfather's middle name was Penman and my parents named me for my Mom's brother and my Dad's father. I went by my middle name until I went to college, since then I have only been known as George P. Brown. Mystery solved.

Cheers,

George

Janet Flick (Stickel)

Thanks, George.   Now we know why all of us who went to grade school with you have "Penman" etched in our brains.

  Good to hear from you.

01/14/24 12:02 PM #3755

Fred George

George,

I obviously find the name George exudes special power.  But, I think you may have missed an opportunity here.  You should have exploited your options with more panache.

"G. Penman Brown" sounds like someone who would be ushered to the front of the line at posh restaurants and get better seats at the opera!

Fred

Yeah, We solved the mystery of Penman

Now, let's solve the mystery of life, Who will start it up?
