Also if anyone is watching OZARK on Netflix I've been trying to defend this vacation location as a totally untrue take on the area.....there is a walk on water church that you can attend on you watercraft it's called the WOW Church but I'd like to think it carries some big city sophistication. Case in point, we ate at Mexicali Blues Sunday . When seated we the waitress approached the table any dejectedly stated that she was working a double and not her  regular shift .  We asked if she would rather we leave and she literally said "that's up to you, it  doesn't make any difference to me what you do ? I asked her if she was from  Chicago?  The food was great !

Thanks for the birthday wishes.  Heard from friends and family near and far.  I feel lucky to have such wonderful people in my life!  Son-in law is making some headway in recovering.  God is good.  Keep up the prayers please.  He has three children who need him and a wife (my daughter) that loves him very much.

Tom Scott -  praying for your recovery, too!  When did the bulging disc become an issue?  After the knee surgery?

Has anyone heard from Murph?  I hope all is well with him.

Janet Flick, I sincerely hope you have stayed in Michigan. My prayers for you and Janet Samida, Pete Pappas and any other classmates living in Irma's path.  May the Lord keep all of you safe from harms way!!  Please let us know if you have survived this horrendous storm.

Thanks, Arlene.  Hope your son-in-law continues to improve.

Fred and I still in MI.  Our home is in Sarasota - direct line of fire - but it's inland 10 miles so in the lowest risk flood zone.  Therefore no manadatory evacuations.  We've done everything we can to prepare the house for hurricane so it's wait and see.  Some of our neighbors have left and many staying.

Thoughts and Prayers for Janet Samida and Pete and any other classmates in the "Sunshine State."

Will report when this is over.frown

How much more can this country take with storms and Mexico the earthquake. We need to reevaluate how we are treating this earth

Arlene and Janet F, thank you for your concern and good wishes.  We should be fine as we do not appear to be in Irma's path.  We are in the panhandle near Pensacola (my husband fell in love with this area when he was in flight school here with the Marine Corps).  In fact, our friends from Ft. Myers came up here a couple of days ago to stay with us for the duration.  So glad, Janet, that you are safe in Michigan.  Best wishes to you Arlene with your family's health issues.  And, stay safe, Pete.

Tom, I think it's biblical all that's happening around us right now, my brother and his wife evacuated Sanibel and spent Irma time in a hotel in Ft Myers where the weather channel was based , it's finally calm but they spent the entire day sitting in the Inside hallway along with the golden retriever.   They have no idea if they still have a home.  My mother in law has a home in big pine key but she's still here , again outcome unknown , brother in law is the producer director for the NBC affiliate in Orlando so he can't leave and my oldest granddaughter is based in  Panama city Beach the Navy will watch out for her , then my sister in law drove to Atlanta Friday to do some errands see friends etc before she start radiation Friday here in St. Louis, my older brother has a beach house in South Carolina but he'll stay inland in Spartanburg with the storms coming thru....needless to say I'm glued to the weather channel, and a nervous wreck add to that Portland and Hood River Oregon is on fire and still not contained and that's where my youngest son lives also has his wedding planned there for next year..I am so glad I live in the boring Midwest in the ozark foothills where weather is rarely an issue. I did attend the tecumsa pickle and pig  festival yesterday which was a (cultural shock )event! I had no idea that they grow molasses cane here so the festival had a molasses boil . Glad that our fellow sunshine alum is safe and soun

Reporting that our house in Sarasota as absolutely fine!  Have been communicating with neighbors and they report that all the homes in our immediate neighborhood are ok with only torn lanai screens on a few homes.  We had no damage to home and no trees down.  We didn't even lose power. It's a miracle.

Pete, hope you are okay.  And Janet, glad you are too. Lovely that your Fort Myers friends were with you.  Hope their place fared well.

Judy Grewe, hope all turns out well with your large family all over FL.
