Moved to Grace, ID, Oct. 1952 and graduated from Grace High School, May 1953 with 40 other classmates. Attended I.S.U. as a freshman and took ROTC. At Ricks College I managed to be a good boy as a sophomore and repented. The next 2 years I was a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Western States Mission. On completion of my mission I attended BYU in Provo and signed a contract to teach 6th grade in Lewisville, ID. I persuaded Gladys May Christenson to marry me after her returning home from the same mission and teaching in Rupert. We were married June 9, 1960 in the Idaho Falls Temple.
We moved to Oakley, Idaho in 1961 to teach 6th grade and be the Principal of Oakley Elem. School. We moved to Burley in 1964 where I taught science and was over the Driver Ed. Program. Along with teaching school we attended 5 different universities for 15 summers. I received my BS degree from BYU in 1961, MS from BYU in Education in 1968, MS in Geology from NAU in August 1972 and Education ED in 1980 from ISU where I began in 1954.
I taught school in 2 Idaho school districts, Jefferson and Cassia, for 35 years. We have spent most of our married life in Burley raising our six children. We have 26 grandchildren and only 1 great grand daughter but hope to be around for 20 more years and have 50 great grand children added to our posterity.
We have served many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the last being a Church Education Service Mission in New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina struck southern Louisiana. That was our 5th mission for our church.
