Carl was a good friend of mine at McClatchy, a very serious guy with a wry sense of humor. He was a dentist, passed away quite young, back in the mid-80's if I remember correctly. He and Al Hunter were close friends.
Carl and I were married for 18 years. He died in 1984 after a brief illness. Carl graduated from University California, Davis, Loyola Dental School in Chicago followed by 3 years as a captain in the army stationed in Japan and the Boston, MA area. He then went back to Loyola to specialize in orthodontics. We had 2 preschool daughters at that time. Our family settled in Woodland, CA.
