Rest in peace, Tom. We sat through two science classes at Cal Jr. High and one geometry class at McClatchy. I lost track of you when you took all the hard science and math classes and I opted for the liberal arts. You were fun to know.
Tom Lowe was always smiling - just a really pleasant guy to be around - can't remember which classes, but I had a number with him - always willing to talk and be engaging . . . really, you meet people like this in life, but they are rare - I'm sure Tom had a full life - we will not live on forever in this frame - but like I told my students for years: There's only two kinds of folks on the planet - givers and takers and sometimes we do a little of both but one or the other side usually predominates - or you could say creators and destroyers . . . I've been so blessed to meet a lot of wonderful creators, whether in the science, arts, you name it . . . you know, it seems like there were so many creating folks in our generation, there really were and are...let's not quit creating, making a difference - Tom was one of those - I am fortunate enough to have met and known him.

The "Committee" received the following email from Thomas' sister, Christine: To class of 1960:
I saw your flyer in my brother's mail. Thomas Allen Lowe passed away this past Monday, August 16, 2010 of complications following a heart attack.
Please pass along the information to the class and reunion attendees.
Sincerely,
