Yes,some of us are about to be 51. I decided since I turned 50 this past year that I needed to do something worth while, sooooooooo I ran a 5K last March in Muenster at the German Fest and plan to run again in 09.

I also have embarked on a journey to honor 3 women,I have and do work with that have survived breast cancer. Linda Dunlap-10 year,LuAnn Yoast- 2year, and Sally Graham - 6 months. These fantastic ladies are all teachers at S&S.

I am participating in the Susan G. Komen 3day (60 mile) walk in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area in November. I am part of team "Breast Friends".So far in my training for this event I have walked over 400 miles. Walking is just part of it, the other is fundraising. Each person walking must raise $2200. My site shows $300,but I have approximately another $500 to add to that total. Your donation will not only bring me closer to my goal, but help with breast cancer research.and education.

In Aug I found a small lump on my neck which turned out to be a mass on my thyroid. I went to an endocrinologist who found 3 more on the other side of the thyroid - no symptoms on that side. I had surgery on Nov 5 and the original site was found to contain papillary cancer - very small and still encapsulated. The Radiation Oncologist, the surgeon and the endocrinologist all believe that it is gone and the only followup needed is blood tests and scans once a year. I feel very blessed and thankful that God sent awesome doctors into my life and removed the thyroid cancer.
