Dan Parker

Thanks for the information Jory, Peggy & Louise. I knew Russ, Dean, Larry and Tim best, I suppose. Although, being one of the small group from Middle Grove Grade School, the furthest back I go with any is 7th grade at Whitaker. Have the PC'ers changed the mascot there yet?

Nice picture of you and the Mrs., Jory.

And speaking of pictures, I think I figured out why Peggy has done so much to put this thing together. She has not changed one iota from 1979. You could superimpose her new pic on her graduation pic and everything would line up. Amazing!

BTW Peggy, life in LA's okay I suppose. There's plenty of good and bad to go around. But I can understand how life in your part of the world could be nothing short of, well, Pleasant.

Yeah, Dan. Whiteaker changed its mascot's name quite a long time ago. They are now the Bears, Cubs, Anteaters or Artichokes. I can't really remember which one it is now.

Hell, they even airbrushed the musket off the Parrish Pioneer.

I looked it up - they're the friggin' Wolverines. ("We are the Whiteaker Wolverine Band. Fightin'est Wolverines in this Oregon land"??) May as well be Anteaters. Although Opossums would be more appropriate.

Anyone know if our own Celt still has his claymore (I'm thinking, in particular, about the graphic in the gym), or has he been disarmed as well?

Haha Dan I think you are looking at a picture of my daughter!! I am enjoying working on this reunion though, and thanks to the internet Patty and I can do a lot of the work from Washington and California. Btw, thank you for the compliment!

Peggy,

It would be interesting to figure out how many were together from grades 1 to 12, I believe we started first grade at Cummings together and there were several others.

Is there anyway we can put together a page that allows us to figure out how many of us went from grade school to high school together?

PS: I drove through your town last month on my way from San Jose to Livermore, boy has Pleasanton grown over the last few years. Alaska is running specials out of both Oak and SJC with double miles bonus to Portland, so book your tickets early.

Jeff,
Janet Toman and I went K-12 together (Hayesville & Waldo) and "walked" together at commencement. There was also Tammi Johnson and likely others I can't remember at the moment.

... and Melanie Farmer K-12 from Hayesville and Waldo.

I can remember several people that went to Cummings, but cannot remember if the started in 1st grade. I think Peggy and Tom Griffen did and so did Colleen. Laura Mathis may have, pretty sure the Halbeisens did. Just thought it would be interested to figure out how many stayed together for all 12 years.

Start a list of people you remember that were in all 12 grades together and maybe we can get a good idea by July, if nothing else it will start you thinking of all the friends you grew up with.

I had not seen anybody from McNary in over 10 years and this website has made it more exciting about going to the reunion. My wife has hers this summer and they did not have a website and she is jealous of ours. Thanks for setting it up.

PS for those that remember me, despite the rumors to the contrary, I can read and write.

Jeff,
I will send an email to the people at class creator to see how to set up a page like that. I am glad you like the website, it was the first one I have ever made! That is great you drove through Pleasanton!! What were you doing in Livermore?

03/31/09 08:33 PM #18

Jeff Davis

My company has several customers in the Bay and we have one in Livermore so I get down there several times a year and fly into SJC and out of Oakland. If the software does not allow it, maybe everybody can just leave messages about who the went to all 12 years of school with.

Great work on developing this website, Peggy! I really like it. Now Sandra Holman and I have reconnected via email.

I agree with Dan that it is sad to see such a big number of classmates who have passed on. Glenda Harris (Walton) was a wonderful person and a good friend. I had gone through school with Jeanette Rupp. I'm not sure how she passed, but my parents saw her obituary. It is so sad to also learn of Elaine Prinslow passing.

I like the idea of having a place for lists of those who had gone through grade/junior/high school together. It was good to have those group photos at the 20th. I never ordered them. Does anyone have those photos to bring? Along with Sandra Holman, Tammie Johnson and Melanie Farmer from Hayesville on, a few more (with maiden names) would be Annmarie Laux, (Glenda Harris), Wendy Shearer, Cindy Hyden, Karen Seavey, Karen Kramer, Mike Andrews, Ron Lenz, Steve Craig, Connie Bock, Brian Gigstad, Steve Jarvis, and Ann Morrison.

Thanks Janet. I checked into putting up an interactive page to have people put their name on a list like this but they don't have the capability. Maybe I will try to come up with something that I can enter the names...

Cindy Hyden (Lenker)

Just wondering if anyone has heard from Ron Lenz? We were "buds" all through Hayesville & Waldo. Think he moved to Colorado or somewhere, but not sure. It's really been fun to reconnect w/people from McNary and Hayesville!

Peggy Parent (Houston)

Ok Jeff, I have tabs started for Hayesville and Cummings. I just need people to let me know what school they attended since 1st grade and I will add them to the list. I will add a Keizer tab but can't remember the names of the other schools.

Peggy,

You are the best, thanks for the hard work. FYI, I was in San Ramon today and you are having some really hot weather, the mountains are starting to turn brown, so you will need to come to the NW to see some green.

Rosemary Goesch (Grieser)

Gosh Peg, I feel a little left out as I don't see Kennedy Grade School listed in the left hand column of the homepage. I'm pretty sure that is where I went but it was so long ago. Really I did just ask myself, "is that where I went to school?"
What did you say just the other day Peg? 3 months to go?
The reunion will be very festive and inviting so here's to hoping that all you 'hold-outs' come. Come on and have a good time and I am fairly certain that at the end of the evening you will be completely happy that you decided to be part of the reunion.

HEY CINDY, RON LENZ IS STILL IN COLORADO. HE HASN'T BEEN BACK TO OREGON IN ABOUT 30 YEARS I THINK. HE HAS A HORSE RANCH AND IS KEEPING BUSY WITH HIS LOVELY WIFE AND HORSES. I WILL GET A MESSAGE OUT TO HIS FOLKS AND HOPEFULLY WE WILL GET TO SEE HIS SMILEY FACE THIS SUMMER. I WOULD REALLY LOVE TO SEE HIM AGAIN AS WELL.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND.

Hi Rose, I was thinking Kennedy was another one but not 100% sure so didn't add it. But now it is there and you are on the list!! I always thought you went to Keizer!

04/27/09 03:17 PM #29

Dan Parker

Hey Dave (Go Blazers!), Wendy and all.

Might I trouble you, Peggy, to add Middle Grove to the grade school list. Off the top of my head I recall a number of us little kids that went there - Ulla Raeth, Matt Alt, Janelle Cage, Eric Bartell, Rick Baltzer, Tim Duchateau, Charlotte Pederson, Brian Martin, Andrew Jaworsky, Desi Meithoff, Tim Nichols, Julie Gustin, Gene Merwin, Russell Lindsay, Mark Woods, probably a half-dozen others. And some of us boys were even lucky enough to have Mrs. Walsh as our third grade teacher!

Laura Matthys (Maher)

Hi Dave! I must have missed the part about paying when checking the website earlier!! Sorry! I'll get a check in the mail!! Thank you and the others so much for your time and effort in organizing this reunion! I am so excited to see everyone! Just reading some of the names on the message board brings back memories and smiles....names I haven't heard for so very long...Hi Dan Parker! Jeff Davis!! Dave R.!! Jory Radke!! (Our parents live 1 house away from each other, you know!) Cindy Hyden!! Rosemary! Wow.. it really seems impossible it's been 30 years!! God bless those who have passed and cannot be there; it saddens my heart but the memories of them are happy!

And yes, the facebook is another method for keeping in touch; I'm not ignoring those of you on it; I just don't have much time for keeping up with it! Can't wait to see you all!

Shaaron Salterback, Dugan Coburn, Gordon Lambert and I were all in Mrs. Deardorf's first grade class at Kennedy. Rosemary must have been at Kennedy but in a different class because at the end of first grade we moved 2 houses down from them and we all rode the bus together.

So I'm guessing that I'm the only Class of 79'er who attended Campus Elementary over at OCE, er, I mean WOSC, oops, WOU.

Mom always said I was special and that's why I rode the short bus. LOL

05/01/09 01:28 PM #33

Well Trent at least when you went there they were not on Swine flu lock down. But of course at that age I would be jumping up and down yelling like it was a snow day. Early summer break baby! Let's be honest. I would still get a little excited and see if a line has set up for Star Trek yet.
