Comments:

After graduating from high school, I decided that I would go to Grossmont College for two years. I graduated from Grossmont College in 1983 with an AA degree in General Education. I changed my major a couple of times and ended up going to California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). I got a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science with options in Community Health Education and School Health. I graduated from CSULB in May of 1987. I moved back to San Diego and I worked temporary for UCSD (various work locations) for approximately one year. I decided I wanted a career as a teacher (I come from a family of teachers). I got accepted into the teaching program at SDSU in the Fall of 1988. I graduated from the teaching program in December of 1990. I enjoyed doing my student teaching in the Santee School District. I substitute taught for a number of years before getting a full-time contract in the Fall of 1996. I have worked at about five schools all over San Diego. I have taught 8th grade (Algebra, Reading, and Science), Kindergarten, First Grade, K-1, Transitional Kindergarten, Universal Transitional Kindergarten. I have been teaching kindergarten for most of my career. I love seeing little people grow and learn so much!!

I went back to SDSU in Fall, 2001 and got my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I graduated in Spring, 2003.

I met my husband in May, 1994. He is a retired
(March 15, 2018) San Diego Police Officer. He had 28 years of service with the SDPD. We got married in October, 1995. We have two children and they were in a dual language spanish program from kindergarten - fifth grade. My daughter Victoria, 23, graduated from The University of Arizona on May 9th and 10th, 2019 in 3 years with a degree in Communication and a minor in Business Administration. She is/was completely bilingual in Spanish, and my son Nicholas, 21, is/was also completely bilingual in Spanish. My Spanish consists of what I took in Junior High and in High School. Nicholas is attending UC Davis with a major in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology. He is a Senior this year (2022-2023). Nicholas is planning on going to Graduate School next year to pursue his Master's Degree in Forensic Science. I am teaching Universal Transitional Kindergarten at Hickman Elementary School in Mira Mesa (2022-2023).

School Story:

Sports: JV Tennis, Track (880), JV/Varsity Field Hockey.

My favorite school memory was of course the picture of me and Richard Goldhammer smiling in front of my locker!! I still talk about that picture!!!

Another memory that keeps popping in my head is when I was running the 880 at a Crawford track meet and I fainted because I was dehydrated. I was so embarrassed!

What are your memories of high school(i.e. funniest thing you or fellow classmate did in high school, secret crush, embarrassing moment, favorite hang out)?

One of my favorite memories in high school was being on the "float committee" and driving around in a truck and toilet papering houses. I will never forget the night we got stopped by the cops and they threatened to call our houses and tell our parents what we were doing.....so when I got home that night, I took the phone off the hook so the cop couldn't reach my mom. I told my mom the next day what had happened and she was ok with it because she knew who I was hanging out with and that was ok with her!!

Little Known Facts about me (or my family):

Everyone in my family except my sister still live in San Diego. My father passed away on December 17, 2018. He was 90 years old.

Do you still see/talk to/hang out with any classmates? Who?

I was so sad to hear about the passing of Gwyn.  Gwyn and I were great friends throughout high school.  We went to most of the football games together, along with Sharon.  RIP my friend with your fabulous mother!
