Since high school I ...... started out at Cuesta, during which I got to spend a semester studying at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico. I transferred to Cal Poly then found myself married and moving to Idaho!! I graduated from Boise State with degree in Psychology in '95, and then started having babies! I stayed home with my boys while my then husband ran his family farm. We lived out in the middle of nowhere on the farm for several years. We travelled a lot, especially back to San Luis!! My ex-husbands dad passed away, we sold the family farm then moved back to California. We settled in Elk Grove where I continued to stay home with the boys. Life was about being a PTO mom, pee wee football games, soccer games, and baseball games. I loved it!! Next thing I knew, I found myself a single mom raising four young men. I went back to school for my Masters in School Counseling. I was fortunate enough to get a contract shortly after graduation as a High School Counselor at a school in Sacramento. It is an extremely rewarding job that I love to go to every day! There is never a dull moment in my house, and never enough hours in the day!!

Of course becoming a mom was extremely life changing! When I decided to get divorced, I thought I was crazy!!! I ended up surprising myself and found I can be pretty tough! It may sound silly, but spending the night by myself the first time all my boys spent the weekend at their dads was a big deal for me!! Getting my Masters while being a single mom was pretty crazy too, but at the end of the day when it is just the five of us, I would not change any of it for anything!!

My kids’ hobbies, which make them my hobbies, are sports….. baseball, football, soccer, cross country and track. With four boys it usually involves at least one practice or game every night of the week and the seasons seem to run together!!!

My hobbies are running, going to the gym, and getting to the beach as often as we can!
