My first marriage was short n sweet (sorta) 10 months right out of high school; then in 1984 MacDonald "Donnie" Haber and I got together and were married in 1986 we lived in San Rafael, Chico, Oklahoma, Novato, and Santa Rosa and seperated in 1997. My Mom was diagnosed with Alzhimers in 05 and still lives in TL in the same house I grew up in. Dad remarried and lives in Oakmont. I ran a muck for a while but have been taking things one day at a time for the last 3 years. I am currently in my third semester at Santa Rosa Junior College working towards an AA in Human Services and certification as an Alcohol & Drug Counselor, it's been one hell of a ride! School, kids, and my partner of 6 years keep me busy but I still enjoy working on cars now and then. Donnie Haber has terminal throat cancer which required the removal of his voice box over a year ago. He is in a rest home in Pacifica and is not expected to last much longer. If any of his old friends would like the chance to visit and say good by I'm sure he would welcome it. Shoot me an e-mail and I will get back to you.

School Story:

Those of us that began our school years sharing milk and cookies in kindergarden at Don Timoteo formed a bond, there was something reassuring in seeing the same faces year after year (even if they did remember and remind you of things you wish were forgotten) our group grew larger as the years passed, most of us were among the first to receive the newly discovered Rubella vaccination, when we were hurt or sick Mrs Plasic would sliip you a "Coffey Nip" candy while waiting for Mom to come and take you home. We learned sports, music (Violin for me) Scouting, Bluebirds, PYC. Anybody remember making the Anti Drug Posters or bobbing for apples in Ms McDainels 5th grade class. At Vallecito we were joined by new kids again so the group grew yet we all knew each other soon after school began. New teachers and classes, (I had Mr. G for math and Drama was fun) most of us "went steady" for the first, second, third,.....time. (sometimes with the same person and in the same month) the IBM in computer class was so big it occupied about a third of the classroom, and on the Gymnastics Squad like other sports we showed our Viking spirit and distain for our opponents on the field and became fast friends by the weekend. And as we stepped onto TL High as lowley freshmen our opponents were now fellow Trojan's and part of our ever growing group. Lots of new classes to choose from, counselors to contend with, and Teachers who were, well different. Science class had a bee hive in the window, History came with a Drill Seargent, during 50's day our annoing rollerskates were countered with a white cane, I TA'd for Health Ed my teacher also instructed Sex Ed, and Drivers Training. I liked Mr Ragsdale's auto shop well enough to TA for that class my remaining three years. After my Sophmore year I decided to try chorus insted of the Violin I had played since fouth grade. We got our first cars, first tickets, and for some their first and last accident. But on Graduation Day we looked around and saw some of the same faces we looked at 13 years before, and some had real mustaches insted of milk. I can't think of a better time, place or group of people to have grown up with.
