In its current configuration, the Fitzharris Clan website is not drawing interest from family members. Before any time and effort is expended in adding content, I'd like to ask you to weigh in with your opinions about whether it's worth continuing. In the other two websites I have been involved with (Marin Catholic and my fraternity at Davis), I invested hundreds of hours setting the site up and maintaining it. I'm willing to do that again, but only if there is some real interest (by all generations) in actively supporting it. That means contributing content (pictures, stories, etc) as well as simply visiting it.
To gauge your interest, please help me by completing this survey.
Thanks,
Dave/Uncle Dave/Dad/Grandpa/Papa

1)
Is the idea of a family website of interest to you?
Absolutely!
I'm casually interested.
No, there are too many other social media venues.
No, I'm not interested in computers.
No, I don't want to share my life in a permanent website.
2)
What would make the site interesting to you?
You might be interested in recording/reading family history; storing photos; having a chat room only accessible to family members; keeping current with other families; etc.
3)
Who do you think should participate?
Should each generation or family branch have its own site, or should it be all-inclusive? Should close friends or in-laws be allowed to participate, have read-only privileges, or be excluded altogether?
4)
Are you willing to actively support the site?
For this project to be successful, it needs to be refreshed with content on a regular basis. That's not a one-person exercise.
5)
When the first year membership expires, it will be a time to decide whether we want the site to continue. If there is a lot of content, it would be advisable to pay for a 10-year license as well as a 10-year URL renewal. That will cost about $1,500. Would you be willing to contribute to that cost if the site has become viable?
