I watched Slumdog Millionaire last night. Loved it! Nobody would watch it with me though..... Oh well.

Congratulations to Andy Hartwell who got married last weekend.

05/04/09 06:33 PM #959

Robert Lacivita

Yes...God bless Andy Hartwell and his new life.

McClure....."Theirs a rich man sleep'n on the.... corner.....There's a skeleton choken on a piece of bread"...

For all the marbles......tonight on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire".....

Who is today, "and will always be"... long after we are gone......"The King of Pain?"

Robert, "would there happen to be a little black spot on the sun" too? Call the Police.

05/04/09 09:31 PM #961

Robert Lacivita

Sorry, Douglas

The question is ......who is the "King of Pain?".

If the question was..."who are the Kings of pain?"....
Rodney King... might say it was the L.A. Police?

Andy McClure

Robert...
Your lyric question could have included..."There's a dead salmon frozen in a waterfall.

Who would be the POLICE...King of Pain

Doug from the corner of Plaza and Granite Reef was correct!!!

Okay...
Who wrote and who made popular..."revved up like a deuce another runner in the night??" The author and singer are not the same person. And what does it mean???

Cayce Evans (Newton)

Congrats Andy!!!!! Blessings.

05/05/09 07:21 AM #964

Robert Lacivita

Gentleman....

The "lyrics" are indeed property of "Sting".

My question is not "who wrote the lyrics?"

05/05/09 08:21 AM #965

Andy McClure

Robert...

Are you thinking the song is about SATAN... who is the ultimate King of Pain???

05/05/09 09:41 AM #966

Doug Holland

Andy,
From the corner of Crestwood and Granit Reef-

Blinded by the light was a Springsteen song and Manferd (sic) Mann sang it while we were in high school. . .he did not pronounce "duece" as it was intended, he had his own spin on it.

05/05/09 10:24 AM #967

Robert Lacivita

NOOOOOOOOOO!....thats not what was on my mind....actually the complete opposite.

I was under the impression that.."Jesus".."who suffered and died for us...bore all our sins and pain."

He him self said..."I have the keys to heaven and hell"

He is the "King of all things"....but to each his own.

.....I think it was he who took the "big time beat down".....cat tails and all....

"by my stripes (torn flesh) you are healed?

Healed of what?......I'm going Pain".

Basketball?..........How about Supercross! Did anybody catch the final race of the Supercross series in Vegas Saturday night? Congrats to James "Bubba" Stewart for the season win and Chad Reed took second for the season. What a great race. Now there's a good reason for Robert to die his hair YZ Blue!

Now that we are on the subject. Once in the Grand Canyon (mid August and a full moon) Some friends and I were paralyzed buy a white light (brighter than the sun). The light didn't burn us, but it was so intense...that we knew by looking at each other, that we should have been frying.

Suddenly, the huge single light, parted into "two separate lights"...when it did...the two lights "separated myself"....from my friends. The light that was concentrated on them, lifted then up off the ground about four feet, then carried them "over and across" (from our position..two and a half miles) to the other side of the canyon. Then set them down...and vanished.

They had to pay $1800 hundred dollars to have a helicopter bring them back across.

But I don't really care to talk about it. I still sleep with the light on.

Jeff, just so you know. Herb was with us that night....but we still needed that helicopter ride later. (credit cards don't lie)

Mr. Dave....couldn't catch the race, but from what Shane told me..."there is some bad blood brewing".

Some cat said.."it is what it is". I guess we'll have to wait till next season.

I live in Nevada, home of "AREA 51" Lots of creepy weird stories here about what really goes on there.... mmmm yeah.

The best thing though, is on the way to California from Las Vegas there are roadside stands with Alien Jerky. We're proud of our Alien Jerky in Nevada.

Shane, Robert, Chipper & anyone else that likes the dirt. How about hitting Grinding Stone Saturday? I just checked their web site and no races this weekend. May be the last weekend before it gets really hot! After that you'll have to head up to my neighborhood for some cool riding.

Doug...

Sorry to put you on the wrong corner... yes, you were correct on the song 'Blinded by the Light.'

Okay here is one... What was the name of the guy that did the parody song about Flying Saucers (this is to make Shane feel good, as it refers to his recent post) and he later did the piece "Mr. Jaws???" They were called 'break in' songs...dumb but popular!!
