Assignment for all classmates: Read "In Sickness" by Barrett Rollins (class of '70). If you don't have time, no problem...I predict it is going to be a major motion picture.

Looking for a good book by a SHHS alumni author. Thinking beyond the usual suspects (Celeste Ng and James Frye), does anyone have some recommendations? THANKS!

I am deeply saddened to lose "fellow Lomonder" Maureen. As many of you know, Lomond students are a special group...loyal, generous, positive, and fun. And if we put together a "Lomond Hall of Fame," Maureen should be our first inductee. She possessed all of those qualities and so much more.
Maureen and I go way back..we actually met before Lomond (attended the same nursery school)! She always had a special place in my heart because she was a member of the great Goulder-Rubin-Kirschenbaum clan. Since Eileen Rubin was my best friend, I believed that I was somehow part of that wonderful family and I cherish the memories. After HS graduation, we went our separate ways...different colleges...different coasts...different lives. Fast forward to 2020 and I received a Facebook message from Maureen! She wanted me to teach a private virtual cooking class for her cousins in Cleveland. I was thrilled! Reuniting with this amazing and lively group was delightful. In fact, it was so special, that Maureen and I built up a program of cooking classes to share with SHHS. Maureen made every class fun, funny, and engaging (while anonymously making large donations to the reunion fund) . And she made a difference in my life. Thanks to her big heart and networking skills, I have reunited with old friends and have reinforced bonds with lifetime friends.
My favorite memory of class time was the dynamic between Maureen and Alex. They LOVED spending sundays together in the kitchen via Zoom. And we loved hearing their stories. I will always cherish our special memories and Maureen's magical gift of bringing people together. Sending condolences to Alex and his loving family. Maureen was a gem!
Happy birthday Jeff! Hope your day is filled with hiking, sourdough, and fun. I can picture you and Belinda laughing all day. ENJOY - Joanie

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jim!! I have thoroughly enjoyed cooking with you over the past few years. Especially love your "Bowl 'O Red"....it's a regular in this house and one of our favorite meals. Enjoy your day!!
Happy Birthday Alex! I am looking forward to our matzoh ball soup class. Even more, we need to laugh, catch up, and gain a few new skills. Hope your celebration was special - Joanie
Happy Birthday Maureen! Hope your special day was filled with cake and gifts and fun! Love, Joanie
David and I met as members of Woodbury's band. He was kind, optimistic, and full of life. I am so very sorry to lose another special classmate.
