I find it fitting and appropriate that I speak on Joel "Joey" Kaye. I found out this past week that Joey passed on about a year and a half ago in Santa Barbra, CA. Joey was my cousin, we were close in high school but as time went on we become more and more distant. I probably saw him three times in the past 40+ years. Joey never married and has a sister in Cleveland. Joey loved his beverage of choice Coke and hated doctors. I am sure he is missed by his many friends in Santa Barbra as well as his family and friends in Cleveland.
Age 65, died on March 3, 2013, in Santa Barbara, California. Beloved son of the late Hyman and Jeanette Kaye (nee Nudelman), cherished brother of Gina Ashby (Carl) of Chesterland, Ohio, adored uncle of Jason Ashby (Jodi), great-uncle of Jenni, Jamie, and Josie Ashby. Joel was a generous and fun-loving man who is also survived by many cousins and a large group of loyal and devoted friends. Private services were held. Donations may be made in Joel's name to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield MA 01202 or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), 6100 Rockside Woods Blvd, #445, Independence OH 44131.
