I do not remember Bob from high school, but I worked with him at a local accounting firm from 2001 until his death in 2003.   He graduated from the University of Michigan and prior to working at the CPA firm, he spent 10 year s as the treasurer for the Cleveland Heights School District and another ten years as the CFO of the Cleveland Institute of Music.  He died of a heart attack at the emergency room of Suburban Hospital.  He is survivied be his wife Francis and his son Justin.  They both live in Boston.

Bob reminded me of an college professor.  He was over six feet tall and weighed about 250 pounds.  He was bald, with white hair on the sides of his head and he always wore glasses.  He had a dry sense of humor and loved classical music.  I remember one night, towards the end of tax season, at about 7 PM, he came into me office and  asked me if I felt like a break. He felt we needed to go to a concert at the CIM.  At that time of the year, any break was welcomed.  So off we went, from our Beachwood office to University Circle to hear the student orchestra play.

He enjoyed learning.  His current interest before he died was geology.  One day at lunch he talked about the Ice Age and how the glaciers had come down accross North America, stopping on the southern shore of Lake Erie.  According to Bob, this is what created the  Heights.   I regret that I did not know him in high school because he was a very interesting guy.
