John Kavanagh

Attended University of Montana, graduated in Journalism 1961. Returned to Shelby as Editor of The Promoter, bought the newspaper in 1967 and later purchased newspapers in Cut Bank, Browning, Fairfield, and Kalispell. Established a central printing plant in Shelby in 1972 where at its peak 21 weekly, monthly, and quarterly publications were printed. I continued as editor, publisher, janitor of The Promoter until selling it, along with the Cut Bank Pioneer Press and central printing plant, to son, Brian, in 1995. I had earlier sold the Browning, Fairfield and Kalispell newspapers. Now Retired and living in Whitefish.
